The Book of Shadows: So Below expresses the archetypal meanings of the Tarot with scenes taken directly from our busy modern lives. These archetypes aren’t on the grandiose scale of most Tarots. Instead, So Below is accessible, modern, and perfect for readings for self and family. Soft but never fluffy, So Below’s imagery speaks in modern slang and phrases its drama in everyday terms.
The characters in So Below reflect our modern multiethnic societies. The royalty cards show the same person at different stages of life. The Chalice and Pentacle royalty feature men, while Wands and Swords royalty show women, an example of the fluid gender roles found throughout the deck.
Because the images are easy to connect with emotionally, So Below is an excellent deck for newcomers to Tarot. The unassuming style of art fits the subject matter perfectly. Vivid colors are carefully keyed to their occult resonances, and the dynamic scenes make So Below a visually exciting deck.
So Below illustrates the magic of our everyday lives, and gives guidance on how to live a magical life, while dwelling in the city, or driving the children around the suburbs.

So Below is not free (it costs 4.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is So Below legit?
✅ The So Below app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
The artwork is really relatable and appropriate to the card. It is great for readings pertaining to daily activities and life. I like having the explanations of each card a tap away and a whole list of spreads with detailed descriptions.
This is my second digital deck and they continue to surprise me with how there is no difference connecting with these vs physical decks.
Best practical deck!
Wow, this is the best deck after the Thoth Tarot. I usually don't get decks that are modern and not abstract, but something about this deck makes it so much more practical, like the difference between using a Lenormand vs a Tarot deck. I pull the card of the day every day, and BAM there is an exact description. Readings are so simple to understand on any topic, from the practical to the abstract. Definitely the deck to use for practicall every day answers.
Very Pleased!
So loving this app!
Short and simple but intuitive
Great illustrations. The meanings are simple and straight to the point. Love that you can add or draw more cards from the deck for clarification purposes.
Exactly what I want in a Tarot app
Beautiful and Insightful cards, very easy to read at any level of Tarot study, and exactly the right amount of customization without over complicated things.
A Great App!
This is a well built app for tarot cards! Easy to use with many options.
Practical Magic
The artwork for this deck blurs the boundaries between modern life and the realms of magic in a delightful, yet meaningful way. The format of the app makes it easy to choose a reading based on your question and instantly records it for you. This feature allows you to easily reference previous readings and note reoccurring cards or other patterns. I also love the druid craft app from this same group.
Beautiful
Love it
I adore this deck!
I highly recommend this deck, as well as any deck from this company. They do such a fine job with Tarot. And this deck in particular has worked for me very well for a long time.
