Song-Writer: Write Note Lyrics

Please update and remove the bugs! I have so many songs stored on this app that I don’t want to go through the trouble of changing apps, but after years without fixes, I think it’s time to move on :’(

This used to be an amazing app. The best! But after getting taken over by a holding company, this app hasn’t seen an update in 3 years. The Dropbox linking has been broken for some time which didn’t affect me until my iPhone X quit. Now I’m no longer able to access my songs that were stored in Dropbox. If the developer would fix the broken Dropbox link it would be fine. This app received a modest update to work with iOS 11. I was ecstatic to see this because the app had not been updated in 4 years and was not working with iOS 11. I have a lot of content in this app and wasn't sure how I was going to get to my material. It's a great app but therein lies my problem. If they decide not to update it anymore then I'm screwed and all my years of songwriting are gone. But this goes for any app. I've toyed with the idea of moving all my material to an app such as OneNote that's not going away but it's not specific to songwriting and not as great to use. Plus there is no easy way to export your material from one app to another. I did that years ago when iWork for iCloud came out and lost a ton of material because iCloud was buggy. So this is a great app for songwriting and I've used it for many years. I said all this to say this: just make sure you have a backup plan.

The Setting the letters above are covering words below that line all the way down the page. My folders & song Titles are blending into the line below. It’s in need of a basic fix. I’m using an iPad 12.9” screen & iPhone Pro & both have this same issue. The font for Settings is too big to fit correctly in the app & same goes for I suppose the Folders & sing titles. This should be quite fixable for the developers. Why if I’m paying could I not move my songs from the initial trial/free version over to the paid version. I didn’t want to d.l. an additional app (paid). I just wanted to pay for more than the 2-3 folders in the free version but when I went to purchase it had me download the app a 2nd time. No way to purchase from within the app. Why? Please fix. This is messy! I’ll revise my review. App has great potential but no readable Settings/Instructions etc. Why?

Had original Songwriter HD, which was really pretty cool. But you could only have a few songs on at a time. So I paid for this version. It’s horrible. It truncates how much can be entered, so short you can’t even write a pop song, the screen is totally bizarre, only using part of the tablet screen, and the format is big blocky print. The original was so much better. Why couldn’t my purchase have gotten me the ability to have more songs in process with the original purchase? This version is useless to me.

Needs to be updated at least its a very useful app i love it but i guess we have to start looking for something similar to this app -IOS 13.0

This used to be an awesome app. Now the bold chords don’t work and after you wrote the first line of lyrics the second line disappears so you can’t see what you are typing. iPhone X

This app hasn’t been updated and It no longer works with dropbox. Since I lost my phone I lost over 200 songs that I’ve written.

Lines constantly disappear while editing. Wish i could get my money back. Total garbage

Just like the songs you write. They start out good and end up in the round file. I had a bunch of good stuff in Songwriter and lost everything. I couldn’t transfer the songs out of SW to mail or text like I was able to do in the beginning. After trying so many things, I finally tried rebooting the app and lost everything. Like one of the other reviews said “have a back up plan”. I’m going to look for another app. I don’t trust this one anymore. So sad.

Killer bug that leaves what you write invisible. Plus some bars at the end of verses or choruses missing. You also CANNOT send your song via email which is a major game breaker if you want your song sent to you for collab and backup purposes. Was the best app now to be forgotten I guess.. An iPhone X update would be nice as well, although farfetched at this point. 😐
