Sick
BEWARE!!! True this app is “free” but you pay big time in wasted time and upload failures trying to use the app that’s plagued with network errors. The concept is great...you get unlimited uploads and can collaborate with musicians around the world, but the app is tedious and painful to use. It hasn’t been updated in over a year and the last update did virtually nothing...no new requested features...just “bug fixes” that didn’t appear to fix any bugs. Once you follow enough members and get a decent amount of followers your inbox will quickly be littered with notifications about the chronic reposting of songs and there is no way to stop it...you’ll get hundreds of notifications about so and so reposting this and so and so reposting that...it’s very annoying and hard to sift through. Moreover, certain members have mental problems and will appear normal in their public comments but in personal messages are delusional and psychotic and to top it off the developers are “hands off” meaning they will not interfere or enforce the rules the claim to have, so you are literally at the mercy of these insane members...publicly and privately. The developers started a Facebook group to get ideas and listen to the members which completely failed. They invited the crazy members into the group and it got out of hand with madness and anger. Nothing came out of the group except broken promises and ignored feature requests. Give this app a try if you have a lot of time to spare and to be quite honest most of the members are very supportive and friendly...I have made quite a few meaningful friendships from collaborating...musically it’s very inspiring, but the app itself needs a lot of updating to be competitive with other similar apps.
This app saved me from boredom during the pandemic. I have met so many incredible musicians from around the globe. So fun to be able to create and overdub different tracks. I never thought I would be able to jam with folks from over seas. Music is universal and this app allows the collaboration to blossom.
When I got the app I thought it would be fun and easy, but I had no idea what to do, the controls were a mess, and I didn’t know how to play my own music. That’s just my opinion.
I absolutely love this app it works great. It is a little confusing at first but its easy to learn. My only issue with this is that the record and edit station is very weird. When you want to delete effects you dont want you cant just delete them. You have to turn them down to 0. But besides that I absolutely love it. Great to start putting dreams into action.
A wonderful way to travel the world of music.
Three years ago I installed Songtree and BandLab at the same time. I could not get Songtree to work right on the devices I had at the time as they weren’t the right ones. So I went with BandLab because it did work with my crap devices. I’ve been a drummer longer than many people live. Tons of lessons taught, live performances and studio work I have. I had no actual online recording/collaboration experience.6 months ago I decided to try Songtree again with proper equipment. Once I got acclimated with the Tree and my new recording equipment it was great! The fact that you have basically 3 different DAW choices (Standard And Pro Songtree DAWs along with NTrack 9 who created Songtree) is amazing on its own merit. All three DAWs are free albeit NT9 free isn’t the full app but trust me there’s more than enough. Or pay 29.99 and get the full app. Songtree Pro DAW along with the full free desktop version is very good as well. Far less convoluted community than the Lab also. So what are you waiting for? Get Songtree if you are a musician or music artist and get cracking!
So I’ve had this app for some years now and I refuse to delete it! You can join songs and people can join yours or add more to it. You can make your own songs and edit your voice and instruments it really is a mobile studio seriously. People can comment and listen to your songs and vice versa, so cool. It’s everything! Now my only issue is that now when I go to do a song there is a delay in the editing so it slows down making it hard to select buttons during that part cause everything starts moving in slow motion. I thought it was my phone but I have a new phone now and this app was freshly added back on here and it’s still doing that. Can you please fix the bug so I can get back to enjoying this app in which I love so much! Thanks love ya bye
Great app! Been using it for some years now but I’ve noticed that when I’m ready to record using the pro recorder there’s like a delay now. It has started to become difficult to go back and edit parts or record over because it moves so slow. The speed is sort of in a ticking motion which is so annoying. Please fix
