Finally an app that makes ear training fun, challenging, and approachable.
i NEVER write reviews but i bought this within 5 mins of using the free version. WHAT A TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was identifying 3rds and 5ths within 30 mins!!!!!!! THANK YOU SONOFIELD!!! GAME CHANGING
I’ve been following the creator on social media for over a year and have eagerly anticipated the launch of this ear-training app. And it does not disappoint. In fact it exceeds expectations. I’ve been looking for a proper ear-training app for years. Have found some I like - such as Earpeggio - but this app surpasses those in intuitive design, aesthetic appeal, and holistic rigor. Seriously if apps were startup stocks then I’d be putting money here. And it will only get better from here.
One week in and I’m already getting better
This is such a fantastic training tool! I’ve been able to hear/feel the tonic in a solid chunk of music for a little while now, and I have tried to identify scale degrees on the fly (with limited success) so the drone really makes ear training feel really familiar. The only thing I could possibly want would be a way to switch between 12TET and a drone/key-adjusted just intonation scheme (I’d go with the asymmetric one, personally, with its simpler ratios, as there’d be no fear of the wolf fifths given the keying to the drone). I think that’d make a lot of vocalists and fretless folks a bit happier. Thank you for the lovely bit of software!
As someone who is an Aural Skills TA, I am beyond excited to use this tool and have my students use it. Thank you for making such a wonderful app! Things I look forward to..chord recognition, cadences, progressions, etc. This has is super versatile, and I can see it becoming a standard tool in the near future. -A very excited Aural Skills TA
This isn’t just changing my life musically… it’s giving me daily mediation that is improving my focus and presence. I’m learning to listen for the first time.
I think its the best app out there for training relative pitch. Excersises are entertaining and intuitive. I use it all the time while waiting in line or to take 5min break from work.
Love the app, my favorite ear trainer on IOS. I would love it if you had the app keep stats for each level so you could maintain learned skills and observe your progress. Another app, functional ear trainer, does this well by showing you which intervals you succeed/struggle with in percent form. Also perhaps add different timbre options for the drone and notes to help stimulate different brain parts.
