Spaced Repetition SmartCards+

Edit: suddenly, out of nowhere, many features have been locked behind paywall, making the app basically useless. From loving the app to a complete dealbreaker unfortunately. Exporting the cards is only available with their own formatting which is unreadable to me. If I would at least been told this was a trial I would have considered supporting it. In stead I will try Anki Pro that seems better.

I decided to check this app out again, and noticed they finally added a one-time purchase option, sub only was the reason I gave it 1-star many years ago. So great to see that changed, only thing missing now for a full 5-star review now is the option to change font size on the cards. Japanese words barely use any of the available space on the flash cards and feel very small on the 11” iPad. Formatting would be cool as well.

When taking photos while making cards, and then saving the card, the photos are displayed for a little while, but then suddenly disappear, forcing you to take new photos. This doesn't happen again after having taken new photos. This behaviour happens about 50% of the time when making cards with photos. Annoying to have to go back and edit the cards all the time. I use the app to take photos of real life double sided flashcards. I always make many smartcards in one session, which consist of one photo on the front and one on the back. Hope you find a solution!

This app has, by far, the best user interface out of all flashcard and spaced repetition apps out there, but it lacks what I think is one of the most important feature: the ability to import decks from excel. If they had implemented this feature this would be a great app. Unfortunately adding all of the cards I need on my phone is not an option, it would simple take to much time..

It has written tests and testing both ways on cards which I really like.

I really like the overall experience of the app, but it would so much better if you could create the cards on desktop and store them in the cloud. It feels like that should be expected at least when you pay for a subscription... Hope that something like that is in development! keep up the good work

Great app! I’m not aware of many SRS apps that have Apple Watch support. I love that - sometimes I want to quickly review cards when I don’t have my phone.

I use this program to help me practice an extensive repertoire of traditional Irish music, which should be played from memory during sessions. I list the name of the tune on the front of the card and include an audio file of the tune and an image of the sheet music on the flip side of the card. The minor flaw is the “edit” menu for the audio attachment appears mostly offscreen when my iPad is in portrait mode and entirely offscreen when in landscape mode, preventing me from either deleting or replacing the audio file. Therefore, I have to delete the entire card, then recreate it with the new audio file. I’m using a 4th gen iPad Air with iOS 16.1.1.
