SpaceM is OTT Platform from the northeast which will be available on iOS platforms by Space Miracle Studios Pvt. Ltd. It is a shot in the arm for the struggling entertainment industry in Arunachal Pradesh, and it will be a major boost to all the creative minds of the state since they will now have an opportunity to share their stories and contents through this app. Now the professionals, as well as the independent filmmakers from the state, as well as from other regions will have an opportunity to showcase their movies, web-series, short films etc. and will also have the chance to finally monetize on their hard works. Local producers who have long failed to recover their costs and have been reluctant to produce more films will now be able to not only recover but make profits out of their investments according to their contents and viewers appreciation of their products.
With the coming of the OTT platform SpaceM in the state, the long-cherished desires of the many creative minds, writers, directors, content creators, producers for a proper platform to showcase their products will finally be fulfilled. Arunachal as a state in terms of film making is still at a nascent stage. Though over the years, independent filmmakers from the state have put an honest effort to revive the film industry of the state, and have been able to somehow give boost to the industry, the state still has a long way to go in terms of proper infrastructure for movie making, support for technical crews, availability of the modern film making equipment etc. But things are going to change now for the Arunachal Film Industry after the launch of SpaceM.
It is also pertinent to mention here that Space Miracle Studios, with Alison Welly as its Managing Director, has won many national and international awards. They won the National Award for their short film 'Aaba' which also went on to win the prestigious Jury Award at the Berlinale International Film Festival held at Berlin. Their recently concluded reality show 'Sadak Ka Superstar' is the only reality show from the state to be broadcasted in DD National.
