SpaceStationAR is an augmented reality (AR) application that simulates the visibility of satellites in the night sky. With SpaceStationAR, you can easily spot the brilliant International Space Station, spectacular Starlink Trains, and various satellites at the forefront of space exploration with your own eyes!

As your iPhone or iPad camera captures the scenery around you, SpaceStationAR overlays passes of the International Space Station, the Starlink Train (a group of Starlink satellites), and the Chinese Space Station onto the actual scenery. You can also use the app to find bright stars, galaxies, spacecrafts like Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, and even see the direction of major cities beyond the ground. SpaceStationAR also indicates the positions of geostationary satellites, making it a valuable tool for antenna installation.

You can easily access satellite orbits on maps and celestial charts in addition to the AR views.
The "Calendar" tab displays events like upcoming satellite passes and rocket launches within the next two weeks. You can choose a pass from the list and simulate it in AR.

SpaceStationAR also comes with an Apple Watch app and a "Today" widget. If you have a compatible device, you can conveniently check a simplified satellite forecast list without needing to open the main app.

The LITE version of the app restricts AR mode display to 30 minutes before satellite passes and does not provide real-time AR functionality. Additionally, advertisements will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Where has the data gone?

Love this app really is stunning works all over the world wherever you are. Congrats to the developers.

Does not work on iPhone 8+

Slightly disappointed as the app does not perform well on iPhone 8+ AR mode does not provide any overlays and app regularly crashes. Works fine on my older phone 7 and iPad. Shame it doesn’t work on my primary device.

Best satellite tracker app I’ve found

Great app for planning where to look for satellite passes. Unfortunately it’s not immediately obvious how to see satellites other than the ISS. You need to go into settings and change the magnitude threshold to 2 else dimmer satellites such as Starlink get filtered out. Would also like the option of larger text for object labels in AR mode as I find them hard to read.

Stopped working...

Clicking on the calendar used to display dates and times of passes but it stopped working so you have no idea when the sat trains are due over, please fix or refund....

Entertaining but flawed

While it's always fun to see an AR overlay on the real world, there are some issues with accuracy here. I downloaded the app while waiting for an ISS pass that a friend had predicted, hoping to beat him to sighting it. The ISS showed up beautifully sunlit, but the app thought it was 23 hours away below the horizon :-(

not bad

bit fiddly but good effort , like all live sky views a bit hard to pinpoint probably cos of shakey hand , these things work fine if you have a dead steady hand and arms like stallone

Amazing

This is truly amazing it gives a great camera view. the cities layer blows my mind. I haven't tried many other astronomy apps but this one beats what the other apps appear to be. Haven't yet been able to check the accuracy but Im betting it's at least good. The app could do with some rounding, like the UI, but with this functionality it really doesn't matter.
