Spectrogram Pro does a real-time spectral analysis of the sounds around you. You can use it for discovering hidden images in music, analyzing birdsongs or capturing that annoying high frequency whistling of your electronic device.
You can choose between four FFT-resolutions, logarithmic or linear fequency and amplitude scale and four color-schemes and adjust the sensitivity. Also you can share and save the spectrogram-images. There are also bode plot-modes with averaging and maximum-calculation. The spectrogram is updated with 60Hz for a super-smooth and comfortable experience.
Exactly what I've been looking for.
You would not believe the number of apps I've scrolled through and looked at before I found this.
I wanted a simple, clear, waterfall display type of spectograph that would give a visible record of the frequency and duration of certain transient sounds. There are apps out there that have this, but the ones I found were expensive, most requiring a monthly subscription or very high one off payment. This is just what I need & at a great price. I love the frequency measurement you can access by touching the sound trace, it helps enormously if I want to tune a notch or band pass filter in order to isolate a sound.
many thanks, great app!
:)
Works well but limited by lack of frequency scale
The app works fine and the options are good, with one major exception. Not being able to set the limits of the frequency scale renders it unusable on a small screen for some tasks.
Bowled over
Have been searching for an App, to check singing bowls. Being multi-toned, they are tricky to quantify, this gives a finger print of the sound. You can see patterns for the effects of different strikers, playing speeds and styles, even distinct patterns for talking bowls. Still in the early stages of using it, excellent so far, on iPhone 3s and iPad 1
Just great
This is great fun at home to open up our kids apprecition of sound and really useful to have in my pocket as a pro animal acoustician. Would like a little more rational Fq scale but that is a minor grumble. Love it!
Excellent app
Excellent app for analysing audio. I use it with a Fiio E7 (to spilt and amplify my recording) and a iRig (to convert the headphone output to an audio input). The new frequency marker is the icing on the cake. Recommended.
Needs a couple of tweaks
This is great and potentially extremely useful. However, two improvements are essential to this and will give it a five star rating (and make it a serious show-off app):
• A bigger play/pause button (moved to the right - out of the way of the frequency legend) I manage to hit this around 1 in 3 attempts. I haven't got fat fingers. It's annoying.
• Pinch zoom-in to frequency to be more specific (legend will expand to accommodate this). This, I would say is the most important update.
With these additions, this app will be a fabulous tool and worth considerably more than £2.32.
