Before I like using this app that is why i even bought the premium version but i encountered some issue after the update and when i reported it i just received an email that they will not fix the issue because me and only 1 person reported it. So i guess i does not matter when only few users encountered an error. With regards to the reply. The device is not corrupted since all the other applications is working fine. Only the speech central have an issue. I also tried changing the voice setting and using the other voices but still the issue remain.
This has all the bells and whistles except one. It would be awesome to user defined pronunciations for acronyms or other technical terms. Preferably this should support regex with import/export of these pronunciation list per document.
So scrolling is a huge problem for my form of dyslexia. There does not appear to be an option for page turning in the reader. I love the font selection. I trained a lot with Dyslexia Open so being able to use that would be great. But the scrolling thing really kills it for me.
Such a nice free TTS app with customizable AI voices.
The initial download fail, I had to re-download the app for it to work properly as it kept freezing. I got no reply from customer service after the first round of emails. When moving PDF documents forward to read it compresses all the words into one string of letters. Which makes this app useless. Never seen this happen with any of the other document readers.
Compared to competitors, this app has so many features and is a fraction of the price. One competitor costs something like $80 per year subscription whereas this app is a one time payment of less than $10 if I recall correctly. You can change almost everything in this app: the voice, the voice speed, the pitch, share from other apps like browser to read articles, and everything you'd want or need. I also love being able to bookmark paragraphs so when when I come back to the book much later on, I can revisit the important parts. One suggestion for new users is to play with finding the right voice so you're comfortable with the sound of it since you'll be listening to it a lot.
I love this app, I bought the full version and use it all the time. The only real drawback is that if you add too many books, articles, or fics the entire app will randomly freeze up and I’ll have to open and close it several times before it finally unfreezes. Then I have to delete the majority of the documents I was hoping to keep and re-listen to.
After the most recent update, the app will no longer continue reading after a single sentence, please revert / roll back / fix
It was not simple to enable the Azure Microsoft AI voices, but when I finally got it working, the quality is astounding. The AI voices sound like real people reading with feeling and interpretation. Honestly, it’s a bit creepy, but I’ll take it!
