Sight words are to be taught to augment the phonics method of teaching. Once the child gets familiar with the sight words, it makes reading much easier hence the child can then focus her attention on reading and understanding the more complex words.
Spell That Word is inspired by the combination of Dolch and Fry high-frequency sight words which when learned allow them to read around 50%-75% of words used in children's books!
