Description
Spider Solitaire is a variation of the classic solitaire game that uses two standard decks of 52 cards each. The objective of the game is to move all the cards to the 8 foundations in ascending order and alternating colours. The cards are arranged in 10 columns, with the cards in each column stacked on top of one another, with the top card facing upwards.
Cards can be moved between columns to create sequences of cards of the same colour in descending order. It is also possible to move groups of cards between columns, provided they are of the same colour and in descending order. If a player gets stuck, they can move the entire stack of cards to another column. The game is won when all cards have been moved to the 8 foundations.
The rules of the Spider Solitaire card game are as follows:
1. The goal is to move all the cards into the foundation piles, organised by suit and in ascending order (Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King).
2. Start with five cards facing upwards in each of the eight columns.
3. The remaining cards are placed in the extra card pile (or "stock").
4. Cards can be moved between columns, but only cards of immediately lower value and of the same suit can be placed on top of each other.
5. If a column is empty, only a card of immediately higher value can be placed in the column.
6. Extra cards can be used one at a time to fill empty columns or complete moves.
7. The game ends when all cards are moved to the foundation piles.
8. There are two variants of Spider Solitaire, namely Spider Solitaire 1 Suit and Spider Solitaire 2 Suits, the difference lies in the number of suits used, 1 Suit uses only one suit (Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, or Clubs) and 2 Suits uses two suits.
