Build or true your wheels by sound. Easier and cheaper than handheld tools. Simply pluck a spoke and the tension is shown on the screen.
Save multiple wheels to iCloud and share them among your devices.
Get a visual of your wheel's tension with the 'Wheel Builder' view.
Support for many different spoke sizes, shapes, and materials.
Many mechanical tension gauges have low precision with steps of 10 kgf or more between readings. The app has much higher precision, down to 1 kgf.

Doubtful but convinced
I have two physical spoke tension meters but have retired them in favour of this app. The app is able to measure a wider range of spoke types and is more consistent in repeated measurements. I set up a test weight on a single spoke and the app tested spot on.
Doesn’t work very well
This app shows the high tension side of a wheel reading lower on every spoke than the low tension side, compare to using a real tension gauge, which show correct results. Something wrong with the app.
Tensioner on iPad Air
I've loaded the latest version on my iPad Air and it is fully functional.
Much easier to use than on my ancient iPod Touch.
I haven't used all the new functions yet but it definitely locks onto the spoke tone more accurately.
Great wheel building app.
Cool app
I've always used a moving coil guitar tuner to tension my wheels which uses the same principal.
I just tested this app on a known good wheel, the accuracy and repeatability of the measurements is suprisingly good.
One suggestion I would make is to have the 'set' button in the wheel build tab to automatically advance the selected spoke clockwise to the next one.
Great idea, well executed
The first caveat is that I can't vouch for absolute tension as I have no manual means of measuring this. However, the tensions this app gave for 'true' wheels were within the expected limits and what it does allow you to do is correct that rogue spoke and balance your wheels. Cool idea.
Seems to work
Seems to work surprisingly well. I don't know about the absolute accuracy as I don't have a proper tension meter to compare with but if your aim is to get more even tension by taking a comparative measure across all the spokes this seems like a good tool.
