This app does everything I need for hockey sound.

3/26/2026 - Updated review I just finished running 29 hockey games over four days for a hockey tournament. This app performed flawlessly! I paid for the premium version (well worth it) and use Spotify. Few tips - create a playlist in Spotify called “hockey music” or whatever. This will allow you to easily keep the songs downloaded to your device in case you have spotty cell or WiFi in the rink. Also, it makes it easier to tag the version of the song you want - avoiding explicit lyrics for kids games, etc. - create a tab for different parts of the game. I have “warm up” where I have 4-8 songs play in a row. I have 3 warm up playlists. I have a “goal” tab where I play horns followed by a song. I have 10 different goal songs. I have a “penalty” tab and “puck drop” tabs. Also have “break” tab for between periods - think Sweet Caroline, etc. Also have “rock” and “pop” tabs to keep them separated. - remember to back up your app after you add stuff so you don’t lose your work! I was really nervous when I bought a new phone but this worked great getting everything carried over to my new phone - speaking of new phones - the Dynamic Island is pretty cool with the sound bars while a song is playing. My biggest suggestion would be if there is a way to share the set up with someone. I’ve spent hours and hours perfecting this and getting the songs queued to the right starting points. I wish I could share my work with others and then they can modify as they like. I get a lot of people asking me what I’m using. I think for less tech savvy folks this is intimidating and they don’t bother. It would be nice if you could hard set the position of a song on a tab so that when you delete a song it doesn’t move the position of the songs after the deleted song on that tab. ** Old review I have wasted so much time on this app — tagging songs through Spotify premium, tweaking the start times so the songs start at the perfect time, etc. I just played music for a hockey tournament this weekend and this app froze up constantly!! I finally had to go back to an old app. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 16.3 and subscribe to Spotify Premium. I was syncing my iPhone through Bluetooth to the arena’s sound system. I was able to play Spotify playlists between hockey games without a problem. I have no idea what the problem is and would appreciate some help. Until that time I can’t recommend this app.

This app does everything that I needed to do at our athletic events. The only thing that I wish it included was being able to rearrange songs on the screen. I’ve been using this for about 2 1/2 months and it has been one of the best investments that I’ve made. Make sure to go with the Pro version, it’s the only way.

This app is so so helpful!!! Wondering if I can talk to developer to ask some questions? Does anyone know how to contact them? Ty Brian

Spotify integration did not work, it would continually bounce between the apps and then not play 50% of the time. When it did, there was lag and stopping would start a random new song to play. I invested 4 hours in setup. I work in IT and I can tell you it was not user error. The application is very buggy

I play songs loaded into the app via Spotify during stoppages in play and hit pause when the game play resumes. After I pause my song, Spotify will start playing a random song that isn't in my Sports Audio DJ app or in any of my Spotify playlists.

I LOVE THIS APP! But…..even when I have great reception it freezes frequently! Please tell me I can fix this. Long season ahead!

I’ve been using the software for six years as a hockey goalie parent who runs the clock and music. I’m also a professional musician so making the in-game experience for both players and fans is really fun. Between the color-coding, the fading and timing options, categories, and responsiveness of tech, it really is the perfect sports DJ app. There any a game that goes by that someone doesn’t compliment me on the music and how much fun it is. Great app—definitely go pro. It’s so worth it.

This app DOES NOT connect to your Spotify like it says it does. Only Apple Music, and the downloads on your phone. NOT THE DOWNLOADED MUSIC ON YOUR SPOTIFY ACCOUNT

I’m an announcer for a Junior hockey team and have been wanting a good sports audio platform to use and this app is perfect except of the rink you work in doesn’t have good internet and you can’t get good signal. It requires there to be good internet or good cell signal. It doesn’t matter if your songs were downloaded in Apple Music or not.
