Personal monitor mixing for SQ

Published by: Allen & Heath

Description

SQ4You release V1.5.1
his version is for SQ mixers running V1.5.* firmware.
SQ4You is a personal monitor mixing app for the SQ mixer giving you customised control of your own monitor mix on stage using a smart phone or tablet.

It is for remote control of a single mix (it does not pass audio), and connects to the SQ via a wireless router.

SQ4You allows you to :

- Choose any aux mix to control
- Assign which sources to control (Channels, FX returns, Groups)
- View channels numbers, names and meters
- Control individual channel send levels and pan
- Assign up to 4 groups of channels to level trim wheels
- Create a 'Me' group for quick control of your own channels
- Name each group
- Control the aux mix level and mute
- Control the aux mix PEQ, Graphic EQ and Compressor
- Lock the mix and/or processing to prevent user error

Requirements :

An Allen & Heath SQ mixing console with a wireless router (wireless access point) connected to its Network port.
The SQ mixer firmware and SQ4You app must share the same major release version but maintenance version numbers do not need to be identical, for example SQ4You V1.5.0 is compatible with SQ firmware V1.5.1.
A user must have both ‘SQ4You’ and access to at least one mix allowed in SQ User Permissions.
Refer to the Allen & Heath web site for more information and to download the latest SQ mixer firmware.

What happened to the android app

I would rate this as a 4 if android app worked. We love using this app as long as you have an iPhone.

Almost perfect

This has been a fantastic app for our worship team at church to use to seamlessly connect to the soundboard to have control over our own monitor mixes. It’s very user-friendly, intuitive, and gives us exactly what we need when we need to change it on the fly. It’s almost perfect because every time your device, whether an iPad or your iPhone, closes or goes to sleep, it logs you out of the app. during our rehearsals, the simple fix is just to keep your app open all the time. But in live situations when you need to get into your mix in a pinch, it can be quite the hassle.

Confusion

What does the SQ stand for?

Monkey code

Why are there separate apps for SQ and CQ? And why is the CQ app only for ipad? This is a coding disaster. I produce on a computer and just want to control the master fader from my phone so i can conserve limited desk space.

Nice app!

Work great all it needs is to just work directly to the iPhone headphones wired or wireless.

The does NOT save login information

Tboyrussell on

The does NOT save login information, even if I check the save box. This seems to be the same issue with both IOS & Android versions and both phone & tablets. Firmware and app are both latest versions. The problem is, if the tablet or phone goes into sleep mode, if becomes a pain in the butt to enter the password… especially during a live performance situation… not cool! Please fix. Why have a “Save check box” if it doesn’t work properly? AH, please review all concerns in these reviews. I please do not give a generic answer.

Not compatible with previous versions

Please make this app support previous versions! Not everyone updates their board if it’s not necessary for them to have new features or bus fixes. It works just fine for them. Therefor, this app should remain working for previous versions even if there is an update. Please fix!

Firmware update for board, App is dead

Shirley Happy on

United States

Just this week, there was an upgrade for our SQ board to 1.5 - which is great. What is NOT ACCEPTABLE: preventing the SQ app from connecting to the board. It states the board has incorrect firmware and won’t let the app connect to the board. Nothing was updated on the board. Just a new version ready to be downloaded and installed on the board. Seems like you have a bad web service somewhere. Regardless if you update the firmware on the board or not, the app should STILL WORK. Many teams will wait for a second major release like 1.5.1 before updating. Just need to make conditions in the app please. At the very least, support prior version + current. This is a major design flaw, especially when you want to go live and no one on stage can adjust their Personal Monitoring!!! Will remain a 1-star review until fixed. Thx.

Almost there

Good app. Could use these features: - ability to see every channel without them being put in groups (reference M32-Q) - double tap pan to get back to center
