Stack Team App

We have started using this app for my child’s sports club. Even though it has a lot of features it what is the point if you’re not able to use it! It keeps crushing and shows ads.

I’ve used Stack Team App for quite a few years now and generally like it. However, over the past few months there have been some changes that have rendered this app almost unusable: 1) when I get a notification for a chat or news posting (or rally anything from a team) and I tap the notification, it now takes me to the Team App Home Screen instead of directly to the chat or news posting that the notification came from. If I tap on that particular notification, it’s because I want to read it…but now there are unnecessary extra steps to actually get to it. And half the time, before I even get to it, an ad pops up. Which brings me to point of frustration number 2… 2) THE ADS. Look, I get it: the developers have to make money. And they offer the $2.99 per year ad-free experience if that floats your boat. I also don’t really mind ads on the app if they’re just a part of the pages that you’re already looking at. However, now I have full-screen ads pop up, on average, every two to three actions that I take on the app. It’s gotten to the point where I will actively ensure that I do not spend any money whatsoever on the companies that are advertising because they are so annoyingly invasive and you typically have to wait about 5 seconds to close the ad out. I used to get mayyyybe one of these full-screen ads per day. Now I sometimes get 3 or 4 of them while I’m trying to do a few simple things on the app. It has essentially rendered this app useless because everything. takes. so. long. to. do. now. Like I said, I really don’t mind ads popping up on a free app…but when I see three full-screen ads pop up for VRBO in less than 5 minutes on the app, it guarantee I will not be booking anything through them out of the sheer pettiness of their company invading my full phone screen multiple times.

When notifications come in and I click on that, it just opens the app to the last page that I was on. Typically a notification would or should trigger the app to open that notification. When something comes in I never know where it is so I don’t feel like this app is user-friendly at all. I don’t know if this is an event coming up or if it is a chat or if it is something posted in the news and the team has three coaches and they all use this app in different ways and I never can’t find the new information so notification comes in and I click on it. I would like it the actual notification. if a coach posts in the chat, then I would like to go straight to the chat if the coach posts an event, then I went to click on that notification, and it actually opened the event instead of just open the homepage of the app.

Can’t even get into the group has annoying adds. It’s the worst app it’s terrible pls js delete it it’s worthless

This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The UI is not intuitive at all. Things that you think you could click on to make changes don’t do anything. I still get random notifications for a team my daughter was on in 2023, but of course this app won’t let me remove her from the team. Also, lots of annoying ads.

UI is miserable. Horrific mixing of team and admin functions if you’re both in the same season. Completely unreliable response to schedule changes. Poor handling of parent and child accounts, specially for parents with two kids on the same team. Good luck getting info from past seasons out of the app. Most of our parents gave up on this app halfway through. Online help virtually nonexistent, other than a do-loop referring you to SportsConnect, then back to StackTeam. Our transition to this product damaged the reputation of our league. TeamSnap, which I use for my travel teams, is far superior.

This app is great for communication with parents or putting the schedule out but clearing notifications is horrendous and take multiple times going in and out of the application and the specific area where the notification is from clear and sometimes that doesn’t even work.

Absolutely hate everything about this app! Not easy to navigate at all! Every single time someone messages through the app, I get an email as well! Couldn’t find how to turn it off! Takes up a bunch of space and non stop adds! Hate it! I wanted to give negative stars!!!
