Staff Me Up Reviews

Missing options and technical errors.

This app is just not finished or tested. Cover letters get cut off and you can’t see the bottom of your messages. No option to edit after submission on mobile. Can’t read job posting to reference while writing cover letter. Just terrible design. No point in having the app if it isn’t optimized like the web version.

Super Barebones

SubDELTA68 on

This app is way too bare-bones. There is absolutely no way for you to manage your account and membership. Yet another one of these companies that makes you jump to the moon and back to cancel your membership. Not that many people post on here for work, you’re better off just looking on Linkedin.

Where’s the Hire tab?

Wondering why this app is only for finding work and not for posting jobs as well.

Cover Letter Gets Cut Off

marie-g-10 on

I’ve had an account with SMU for almost two years now and I’ve only booked one gig, but it did end up paying for the subscription, so there’s that cost/benefit analysis. My issue is I just downloaded the app so that I can apply to gigs faster, but my pre-saved cover letters are getting cut off by the text box and there’s no way to scroll down. I would love to be able to read the entire cover letter over again before I submit for the job!!

You’re Better Off Using The Website

Tyler Sandy on

All you can do is apply for jobs and use the messenger. The ability to edit cover letters isn’t great because you can’t scroll down. You’ll get better functionality out of the website. Just create a app link on your home page to the website like a web app.

Hidden Work Alerts

Nathan Shinholt on

First of all, I’m confused as to why they made an entirely new app. I didn’t receive and email about it. I went for weeks with the old app not working and had to go to my computer for every job that came through which wasted valuable time. Took a while to find the Work Alerts. Too many taps to find. It should be front and center. If you’re going to hide something from the front page, it should be the unfiltered feed of every single job everywhere. Nobody needs to see every single job on their front page. I want to see the email come through about a job, and then open the app to see the same job staring me in the face. Don’t make me hunt for it.

App good, system broken

Zander# on

United States

This is a well put together app, but after a lot of paid subscription months I didn’t receive so much as an interview for jobs at or below my experience level. No feedback, the “promoted” feature doesn’t seem to do much. They’re just taking advantage of people hurting financially in a struggling industry. Meanwhile, I apply to a job on LinkedIn that’s equal (or even slightly above) my level and get an interview immediately and a follow up.

A redesigned mess

Sometimes they call me Jose on

Sure, the app looks great but it lost all the functionality from its old version. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy the text has been formatted to fit newer iPhones; however it loses so much functionality. Theres no alert interface(like in previous versions), the app doesn’t dismiss jobs already applied(present in the old version)& there’s STILL no way to access direct messages. Just feel like a step backwards, has me questioning who exactly this app was designed for, because I’m still opting out for the mobile browser version everytime. Disappointing
