Description

States and their capitals are one of the first things students need to memorize in elementary school. Help your child master this requirement, and become a SuperKid in school!

SuperKids' visitors agree:

o "There's something addictive about it; my daughter plays it on the way to soccer practice every day."

o "Finally, a fun way to learn all the capitals, and how to spell them!"

o "The easiest way to master a subject, ever!"

SuperKids.com's educational software experts have reviewed thousands of programs since 1995. Their teams of parents, teachers, and kids have been exposed to the best, and the well, not-as-good in educational technology. They know what works, and what doesn't, and their word is trusted by a million visitors/month.

Here, in SuperKids States and Capitals, they have created a deceptively elegant App for the iPhone that can be used for a few minutes at a time while on the go, or in extended sessions to master the names (and spellings) of all 50 states and their capitals.

This App provides a coordinated tool and game pair that makes learning these geography facts easy and fun. Students use interactive flash cards to learn and review, and then practice their knowledge in a game of hangman. These elements activate different learning centers in the brain, and utilize active study and immersive recall techniques to improve memory acquisition and retention.

Special features include:
- bi-directional learning: states to capitals, capitals to states
- automatic missed word tracking and review
- high score tracking for each player
- email report cards and study review
- game position and status memory

States and capitals are part of the standard elementary school curriculum in 4th-6th grade. Use this App to help your child master these social sciences facts, and become a SuperKid at school!

Somewhat disappointing

This app is fine for learning the states & their capitals but you get nothing more. No state abbreviations or U.S. map to learn the actual location of the states.

Wish we had this application a year ago when my son was memorizing the states and capitals. He and I have had fun with the hangman game, especially. It is a good review for any student. Flash cards are quick and easy to use. Recommend this one for parents. You can help your child study while you have a few minutes out on the road. Now, if they can just come up with a similar app for SAT words, I'd be thrilled.

Nice clean and engaging interface. One of the few educational programs that my kids actually seem to enjoy playing.

Great balance - learning and fun

Superkids got this app right, with a nice balance of fact presentation using flash cards, and mesmerizing game play for active reinforcement using hangman. (Other apps I've tried use just one or the other). I'm going to email my Room Mom about it after school today.

Amazing App!!!

Before getting this App I barely knew my states and capitals, but now I'm flying through the exciting gameplay snatching up +50 point bonuses for perfect accuracy! This really is a great way to learn states and capitals as it turns what can be a mundane activity into a battle between life and death as you strive to save the most likeable and animated hangman character I have ever seen. Further, the flashcards are amazing and look just like the real deal! With cool forward and backward flipping motion, the flashcards serve as a great way to try your skills before trying your hangman character in court - who will inevitably need your state and capital knowledge to resuce him at the gallows. So, my hat off to the developer - I hope there is more to come!
