Uniquely Useful and Filled with Facts

TVon1 on

I used this unique app on my recent trip to London, where I was determined to make my own way (as an American tourist who dearly loves the city) on the Tube. I'm a visual learner, so the 3D depiction of each station was quite handy and reassuring! And the facts related to each station were a treat to delve into when arriving at each platform for the first time. I highly recommend the app! I would like to see a legend attached to each map, and hoping it will be available in a future release.

Wonderful app for Underground enthusiasts

Jamespad on

This is a wonderful app for Underground enthusiasts. Facts & metrics gathered in person for each station, 3-D station layouts and lots of other goodies. Five solid stars. This is an informational app, not a route planner. It's a fantastic companion app to the several route planner/line status apps that are out there.

Awesome app for busy London commuters

JimmyS62 on

This is a great app that holds a treasure trove of information for commuters and anyone using the tube really. Want to know what carriage to use to get out of the tube as quickly as possible. Here it is. Want to know if there is a ticket machine. Also easily available. I used this cut precious minutes from my commute. But best of all is knowing that I get the inside knowledge of Matt and Geoff at my fingertips

Amazing

Very thorough and well made. Handy that it can be accessed offline.

Great start but room for improvement

I heard some good things about this map, and didn't hesitate to purchase. I can't say that I am disappointed, but I am not entirely thrilled either. It is obvious that much work has been put into this in order to give lots of detailed information about each station. It is very thorough. My main concerns have to do with the design. For example, it could use a key/guide. It took a little bit to figure out what the numbers mean for a given platform (e.g. 1,3 means carriage 1 door 3). I found a guide on the web that helped me realize that. Displaying any 3-dimensional structure on a flat surface is not an easy feat, but there could be some improvements in design/aesthetic. Here are some suggestions for the developers: * create a master key for things like escalators, the various numbers, platforms, levels, etc * create a link to the guide or include it in the app * consider improving the design of the maps to enhance the different levels or clarify walkways and improve the aesthetic appeal.

Excellent

And excellent app, not only for highly efficient people, but also for students of the history of the tube network

Really helpful

On trip to London and, with some fellow travelers not having packed particularly light, needed details on what stations have lifts and just where to find them. This app with the 3d map projections was just the thing to help. Thanks!

Update: Excellent User Support

sks9b on

This year is the 150th anniversary of the London Underground's opening. Anyone with an interest in the Underground will find Station Master fascinating. I've searched unsuccessfully for information about Tube station diagrams for months. While a few are available, Frost and Marshall have such diagrams for ALL Zone 1 stations in their app. Their web site relates how they gathered data for the diagrams over the course of a year. My congratulations--and thanks--for developing a fantastic app! UPDATE: Since my original review 2 weeks ago, Frost and Marshall have released TWO enhanced versions. The new station exits are especially helpful. Geoff Marshall has quickly replied to two email questions and has improved a station map I commented on. Anyone using the London Underground will find this app indispensable. And any Tube Geek MUST have it!
