Telemaintenance (virtual realtime services) describes a procedure by which technical services can be provided at a remote location with the help of IT components. Data glasses and smartphones or tablets are an important component in this scenario.
The data glasses or their smartphone/tablet, equipped with an integrated camera, display and loudspeaker or headset, serve as an information transmitter between the person on site and the person joining in remotely. These two components are connected by our steep ViEU – virtual realtime support platform.
Via this online platform, any authenticated end device can access the encrypted video stream of the camera. Via this, the service employee takes on the perspective of the spectacle wearer or smartphone/tablet operator and can instruct them directly. Unlike smartphones/tablets, both hands remain free when using the data glasses.
In addition, there are helpful functions, such as overlays of information or recordings for the fulfillment of verification obligations. The visual representation of information and addition of images and videos to the visual image of the data glasses or smartphone/tablet is referred to as augmented reality.
