I am a former foster care and I been working with stepping forward for about a couple weeks now they give you a lot of resources they help you with housing job fairs they are there if you need someone to talk to overall thank you so much
This app is definitely so helpful when it comes to those who are sometimes left behind. This app is really community based and helps formerly and previously fostered people have a better sense of identity and family. It has been so resourceful and I like it a lot. The functions are so useful!
When using the Stepping Forward app, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I found the app easy to get around because it reminded me of other social media platforms. Within the app, they have different modules that can help you navigate questions that you’re asking. For example, let’s say you didn’t know how to make an appointment to take the DMV written test there’s a step-by-step video that explains what the how and it’s important to do it the right way. Although the app is still in development, you can still learn a lot and take away a lot through your transition into adulthood are made on an everyday basis of resources in the community that you or others might be interested in. there are also workshops. You can be a part of that can be in addition to your life such as high frequencies, self-care, how to budget and more. I believe this app is going to be extremely successful but it all depends on how you use it and what you want out of it.
- The app has a great refresh rate. It’s fast and no lagging at all. You can browse for communities, groups and learn different activities. - Has the ability to share photos just like instagram, makes it a bit more personal since only certain people can log in. - No cyber bullying no harassing, truly and awesome app for sharing photos and experiences with out being hated. - As a worker for this company; I truly recommend the app if you have the chance to join. It has resources like (free showers, food, programs, baby sitting, and much more) - Your profile can be customizable like Facebook (background photo and profile) - I have iPhone 15 iOS 17.6.1 and works great! - Has YouTube videos and resources - Bed time stories for toddlers - virtual galleries - Calendar to view Events - Geo maps to find ; resources, jobs and events near you - You can message people one-on-one - shows followers and people you follow (just like instagram) - Again safer online community than those big social media apps - Different activity feeds Truly awesome app to learn something and connect with people who may share similar experiences.
I am a foster kid at the moment and I have been interning with Stepping Forward for a little more then a month now. And I can say, everything in this app is beneficial for anyone or everyone. This app has helpful guides and lots of explanations to help you with what you need. There is an active Fred where you can post and see others' posts and comments. All being positive with information if needed. There is a learning series where that has many subjects with how to do steps and videos on important things in your life. We have job search help and apartment search help. All are beneficial to you and your needs. We have lots of people with support and help to make all this happen. This app helps with everyday needs, you can use this for motivation or just to learn things you have never been taught. Like how to get a job and how to go about it to do so. Overall I enjoy this app, this app helped me so much in my life and figuring things out. So thank you to everyone who is involved.
Stepping Forward actually cares for foster youth. They provide amazing resources, so much support and encouragement. They listen to foster youth because you can find resources that foster youth actually need. You can find jobs, apartments, studios and other resources around your area!
The SFLA app is an amazing resource to current and former foster youth. It’s a free and mobile platform that serves as a hub for the foster community. No matter where you are, you can always open the app and find a resource for many different things ranging from school supplies to housing. It’s also a great way to connect with others because the community is so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for resources, support, and community.
I absolutely love this app. Great resources and categories to pick from. Coming from all around LA county from former/current foster youth. As a former foster youth myself, I came across a lot of beneficial programs that helped me out more ways than I can explain. It helps support finding housing in your area, jobs and just outdoor activities to take your family too. What I really love about this app is their bedtime stories section. I read them to my youngest every night and she loves them. Good thing too, some of them are new to her & myself so that’s a plus. Another, is they always host workshops of various kinds and are pretty cool to attend. My favorites are the meditation and sound frequencies. There’s different options to choose from every week and ranges from money management, self-care, how to apply for FAFSA, and many more. Try it out . I guarantee you’ll feel apart of a community you can call family . 💚
