This app is a great way to record the stories of my family and friends. I love that they can share their histories and will be saved for future generations.

I used the app to record with family members. It’s moving to know my great great grandkids will be able to hear my conversation with my grandmother. Thanks StoryCorps!

I used StoryCorps to record an interview with my grandma at least 5 years ago, but neglected to publish or download it. Now that she’s no longer coherent, I went to look for it and couldn’t find it after the latest update. The customer service team was SO HELPFUL and figured out how to access it on my device when I had given up all hope, and now I have an incredible memory of my grandma that my whole family can love and appreciate. So thankful for the help from this team, and for their love of stories. It means everything.

Bad app that doesn’t really work

Recorded an interview and tried to upload it and it just kept pulling up an error saying try again later (i did and it still didn’t work). Tried to go on the website on my pc to upload it and the website isn’t even capable of letting me log in, it just says “checking if the site connection is secure” forever.

A Lasting Shot

This was an extraordinary episode, truly. The music, the stories, the post event, and his speech in Capetown…this episode took my breath away and brought me to tears. Thank you so very much for your work, and for continuing to honor individuals’ stories. Our story is our legacy.

RIP my interview

So StoryCorps is like, inherently not a bad idea, but the app is just horrendous. It’s incredibly buggy and deleted my recording once it froze on my “Publish” page and then proceeded to crash and my entire recording was gone. It was a 10 minute interview and the said person I was talking to has a 12-hour time difference and it was incredibly irritating that the interview was deleted. Even if it didn't do that however, it in general was just a very buggy app. The Redo Recording button didn’t work unless I went off the app and reset it, but also the buttons just took years to register. Great idea, terrible app for doing so though. It can use many improvements.

Helped me through a rough time

When I was about 16-17 I had an assignment in my english class to interview somebody from my family using StoryCorps. I interviewed my grandmother, because she was my best friend and I understood that because she had many health problems (kidney problems, epilepsy, even cancer during her youth.) She likely wouldn’t be around as long as I wanted. I interviewed her, uploaded it on the app, got an A on my assignment and forgot about it. April 8th 2022 my Grandma passed away from septic shock due to an infection that none of her doctors caught. The whole family was as devastated as you can imagine, matriarchs are very important in my culture! About a week later, I remembered the interview, and after finally being able to log into my account, I had access to nearly 30 minutes of my grandmas beautiful voice and laughter. It helped my family get through one of our roughest times. So thank you StoryCorps ❤️

Alarm deleted recording

Recorded a 30 minute interview and at the end was interupted by an alarm on phone going off. It deleted the whole interview. Very disappointed.
