这样的博物馆，只有美因河畔的法兰克福才有：一个专门介绍世界著名的《蓬头彼得》一书及其作者海因里希∙霍夫曼博士的博物馆，设在重建的老城中心两栋古色古香的房子里。博物馆的展览色彩鲜艳，内容丰富，老少皆宜，展示了法兰克福多才多艺的医生兼作家海因里希∙霍夫曼博士（1809—1894年）不凡的一生，展出的画像、信件、素描和初版书籍，使他的成就栩栩如生。参观者可从各种角度了解海因里希∙霍夫曼：作为精神科的改革者、积极参与社会政治活动的公民、幽默的诗人、顾家的父亲、彻头彻尾的法兰克福人。罕见的珍本、滑稽的改编本、小玩意、艺术品讲述了他的绘本在全世界的传播。除常设展览以外，博物馆还举办文化历史和儿童文学方面的特展。博物馆商店备有大量纪念品和书籍，供参观者选购。
