studiomux FAQ
Is studiomux free?
studiomux is not free (it costs 9.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is studiomux legit?
⚠️ The studiomux app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Vorerst Finger weg!
Ist auf diesem Stand nicht mehr benutzbar. Informationen von seiten des Entwicklers gleich null.
Broken App, be careful!
This app was once crucial to my workflow. Somehow the developers decided to stop updating it and it does not work on iOS16 at all. I doubt they will ever fix it as they went unresponsive. A real shame, what do I do with my iPad now?
It got worse
I love the general concept of this app and really like using touchable form the same developer. I was using the last TestFlight beta of studiomux for several performances and it worked fine, although I had to use certain workarounds. Now the TestFlight beta stopped and I had to downgrade to an earlier version that is available on the AppStore. This version seems to be unusable to me. There are glitches when switching apps on my iPad, random crackles in the audio and I‘ve had the app crash on me several times. It’s too unstable for performances.
I‘d love to see the developer continue working on this app.
Essential for me!
I produce with Ableton on a Macbook Pro and the digital connection to the iPad with Studiomux is simply brilliant: no detour via an audio interface is necessary. I've been using Midimux / Studiomux for years and am more than grateful that there is now a new version 5 series. Super. Downside: The beta version on iOS tends to crash - even the server on the Macbook sometimes sneaks away. For this reason a point deduction. I hope the developers stay tuned. If the upgrade costs reasonable money: OK.
At best its a beta
Tryibg since two days to get everything running to send midi from my win10 daw (ni maschine) to my ipad. Thought this would be a viable solution and it somehow works (server connection established). But its not working at all, didnt get a single note, no support at all, cant find any forum or help. I got the feeling that you just need to install more and more afterwards so eventually its not the easy solution i was looking for. Pretty buggy and frustrating in the end. Dont buy it, its pretty unfinished and beta for a solution which actually costs money and leaves you with pretty much nothing.
Either I am too stupid, or the developers have forgotten something important...
I bought Studiomux, installed the server on my DAW PC (Windows 7, various DAW software like Bitwig, Cubase 11) and connected my iPad via USB. Quickly pulled Poison 202 on it and started playing... The sound already arrives (although it crackles for example in StudioOne) - only unfortunately, for example, pitch bend or modulation do not go through. It is certainly not due to the DAW and the server as well as the VST lacks setting options. With various other instruments (not via Studiomux) it works perfectly.
Now the 1000 dollar question: Could it be that Studiomux only processes notes and velocity? If so, that would be a stab in the heart of the app, as it is then hardly usable. Or am I just too stupid? By the way: Automation tracks are also only partially processed (mute, velocity, note) - aftertouch, modulation, pitch bend do not arrive and are apparently not even accepted by the VST plugin.
Here a patch should come quite fast...
Update
Danke für das tolle Update! What about Modstep?
Bitte updaten!
