Finding treatments that work

Published by: StuffThatWorks

Description

Do you have a chronic condition? You are no longer alone. Join the community for your condition, see the experience of others, and share yours. Contact people directly or join the community’s discussion. The information everyone shares is turned into real data that helps the community. Treatments, symptoms, triggers, what works and what doesn't and more.
It’s more than a community. Using crowdsourcing, we’re building the ultimate knowledge base for your chronic condition, together. Everyone’s experience is turned into real data and useful insights, including organized information on how others experience the condition and AI analysis of which treatments work best and for whom. The more people share, the smarter it becomes.

Millions of experiences are turned into useful features:
• Organized information about hundreds of treatments, symptoms, triggers, co-existing conditions, side effects and more
• A list of the most effective and most detrimental treatments, based on AI-analysis (once your community has enough members)
• Keep track of your overall health and wellbeing with a personalized timeline, composed of your daily updates and objective health metrics from wearables (including automatic integration with the Health app)
• View other members’ reports
• Easily interact with others on the discussion board and chat
• Get access to an interactive map of members by similarity – those closest are the most similar to you
• Add your own research questions for the entire community to answer
• Search the data for people who tried a specific treatment or had similar circumstances
• With time, as more contributors join, you’ll learn which treatment works best for your AI-identified subgroup, tailored to your characteristics

Trouble with the application

Hi I just wanted to let someone know that I am having so much trouble replying to someone’s post, is there an update for this application that will fix this issue? Thank you, other than that I do love this application.

It use to be inclusive

I liked being around those with AA so I don’t burden others. I eventually was unable to access the feature where you add symptoms and support wasn’t responding, so I took it as a hint to leave.

An awesome app with awesome communities of people with conditions

I’m loving StuffThatWorks so much. I’ve met a lot of people who share my diagnosis and it’s so comforting to know that at last there’s people with my symptoms and conditions. I’d highly recommend this crazy awesome app to literally everyone. If you don’t have an iPhone you can access StuffThatWorks on the website. I couldn’t recommend this enough. The community is so supportive. Even when you’re having a bad pain day or a bad mental health day, you’ll find people who can relate. Awesome app, 5 stars easily without a doubt.

No cures

I joined this group hoping that I would learn what treatments are offered. Let me know if there is a eureka moment of discovery.

I want emails again!

I like everything about it except I stopped receiving emails. I believe I accidentally marked it as junk and can’t figure out how to start back receiving emails!

The app isn’t sending me a verification code even despite deleting it and redownloading it.

**UPDATE 5/17** I’ve gotten to where I use the website/desktop version for what I feel are time-consuming tasks and the mobile version for quick things like short replies/comments/posts and checking messages, or just browsing. The website version is organized better for me, and I finally learned what the react emojis mean! Previous review still stands. I’d like to add to the wishlist- •delete DMs/private messages; •author of Discussion post can pin comments •author’s comments stand out in some way like a different color or have a microphone next to their username •flagging comments and posts gives reporting options or just a text box that users can type out why they’re reporting the comment/post/user profile •clarification on what it means if a user joined a ‘group’ and is interacting in the Discussions but doesn’t share any common diagnoses. some people hide their report but can post or they leave out a diagnosis or pretend to have one and give false advice. perhaps add a section for those who suspect they have the diagnosis but haven’t been officially diagnosed and those who have been diagnosed can respond to their questions and concerns. otherwise, if you don’t add the diagnosis, then you can’t post about it? or posts/comments get flagged as “This user hasn’t added this diagnosis/symptom/treatment/etc. to their health report” just to combat false claims and scams •add users as Friends •Mutuals/Friends tab of their posts, comments, etc. separate from the Homefeed ——— I’ve been liking it so far. However, it could use some UI improvements and add a tutorial guide for new users and a refresher for current members. I keep seeing different react emojis for others’ posts and comments and I don’t know what they are, what they mean, and how they’re meant to be used. • When creating a question, the answer style choices are limited. In addition to the “Yes/No” and “Scale 1 to 5,” it would be good to have ‘Not Sure’ separate from ‘Other’ and maybe include ‘N/A’; have multiple choice answer; a choose one out of four or five answers; and each option welcomes customization - maybe someone wants to use the “Yes/No” as a “Day/Night” or “Morning/Evening”. • I also would like the option to choose which emails are sent to me, including an option to unsubscribe from all emails except account-related ones. • The web/desktop version is good but could use some bug fixes and UI improvements as well. I actually find it easier to fill out the surveys on the web/desktop ver

Can’t login first time using it

I already have an account with Stuff That Works and can’t log in with the app. It requires me to creat an account, but won’t let me use my existing account info. I have no desire to create a second account and redo all my info. Very annoying. It might b a good app, but I won’t know that unless login changes.

I like this forum because I can communicate with others how I’m coping with the different conditions that I have, and get other peoples feedback on how they’re coping with theirs.
