Perfect for tracking the monthly payments you forget.
I love this app but would love it even more if the notifications worked properly. The app only notifies me for one out of the almost 20 bills and subscriptions that I have. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and checked my settings and still no luck. Please fix this. Other than that I have no complaints.
The app does what you would expect and provides useful information about spending. Features that I have not seen in other subscription app are: folders, tags, trials. I think trials could be implemented better though. Common periods for trials are a few days to a few months. I would like to enter the information for the trial and the information if I don’t cancel the trial at the same time. If I don’t cancel then the normal subscription would become active and I would like to see what the new subscription’s overall effect to expenses would be. It would be nice if there was a simple (e.g. no icons) formatted pdf report that could be printed for record keeping (or shared with others like a partner or accountant). Also you cannot put in an end date - for example if you decide to cancel your subscription there is no way to indicate that in the app.
Great subscription tracking. I think I tried every possible app before finding this one. Deceptively simple, but amazingly robust. Everything I wanted and none of the unnecessary and bloated baubles I didn’t. The singular thing I could think to want extra would be a way to save/pull up icons I have used before/use frequently so I don’t have to google them each time. I add my payment plans for different things into the app, so I use some of the icons regularly. Thanks for a really fantastic app!!
Update eliminated all tracked subscriptions. Starting from scratch now.
Update 2024: I have knocked down my rating because I am still waiting for features that should be basic. Really I need a skip button for subscriptions that I am not getting but want to be able to not mark them as paid. I thought maybe I would do this and then delete the entry but nope, there is no option for this. It is very frustrating to not be able to easily see how much I have coming up. I might have to start looking for a new product. ——————I have been on the search for the perfect app that allows you to track subscriptions without having to enter bank information or pay upfront. This one seems promising. I am not sure what the difference between folders and tags are. The image import using URL does not work. I do wish to see a skip button. No app has this and I have no idea why. Sometimes I do not plan to get the subscription and I wish I could have that reflected in my total. Just press skip and it goes to the next cycle date and subtracts from the total. I am liking this app due to the calendar feature. I do wish that I could set up manual calendars (i.e. enter my own dates and then be able see which subscriptions fall within those dates) to get a better picture per pay date.
I spent a long time testing the top apps in this class. Subtrack has a well designed UI, plenty of options to customize it to suit your preferences, and the developer is constantly improving it. Support requests are addressed in a timely and professional manner. Highly recommended!
It lost all the information I entered. I let them know and but their solution to the problem did not work!
I already had paid for the Pro version and I like it so much that I just tossed another $4.99 in the tip jar. I use this for all my fixed expenses for the month, quarter, year (everything from property tax to insurance to well, subscriptions). A suggestion for future versions, a small field on the tile near the payment due date showing what the payment interval is (A, Q, M). It’s great to be able to see when big and small expenses are coming up to be paid and what the total expenses for the year will be. I use this app every day- it’s so useful.
I emailed the developer before writing this review and never heard back. This latest upate (at least on iOS apps) has incorrect math for the Average Expenses Bar. Where that bar should show what you expenses would be for a week, a month, and the year, it shows only a fraction of the total, roughly 1/36th. I have not updated the OSX app for this reason. Please fix! I woudl have rated this 5 stars until this update.
