Sun to Moon Sleep Clock is a sleep trainer app for kids, helping them learn when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to wake up. 26 stars are removed at regular intervals throughout the night, to help visualize how long it is until morning. The app is super-simple to set up but can be customized with sleep sounds, wake-up sounds and various settings for naps and bedtime routines.
The Sun and Moon characters can be kitted-out with costumes and accessories from their respective shops. All these items are freely available by default, but an optional 'Snooze Rewards' system can be enabled that rewards kids with 'Snooze Coins' the longer they stay in bed. When active, values are displayed next to shop items and the virtual coins they've earnt can be swapped for 'gifts' for Sun and Moon.
Wake-up times can be set from the settings page or by tapping the orange digit buttons on the main daytime screen. Hitting 'Goodnight' triggers an immediate sunset (bedtime). Three taps to Moon’s nose triggers an out-of-schedule sunrise after a preset delay or an immediate sunrise can be triggered by tapping his nose 3 more times - perfect for one-off naps or mornings when the scheduled wake-up time just isn’t going to happen!

Sun to Moon Sleep Clock Reviews
Simple and straightforward
I love this app, it really helped my kiddo when she started school, the music for bedtime is relaxing, it has countdown stars (that can be customized to other things) to know if it’s closer to wake up time. It’s so simple but it helped with her understanding that if the moon is there she can sleep some more. This was the best solution I found to teaching her the time at 5 yrs old.
Indispensable app
The kids love customizing the faces and I love that it keeps them in bed till it’s time to wake up. We use it on an ancient iPad at home and on our phones when traveling.
We put it in the top of the tent when camping too.
Sun
Mine must have a bug because I have to manually set the moon every night. I was hoping it would automatically turn when I set it for bedtime. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. Restarted it several times and still nothing.
Changing my rating because Michael got in contact and promptly fixed the issue. Thanks again!! This app is now working perfectly and is such a great help!
Life saver
Easy to use. Have an old iPad set up in my 3 and 5-year-old's room with this app and works like a charm!
I adore sleep clock
F, age 6 -
Sleep clock is a good app. Works great. Fun sounds. Helps me know when it's morning.
Most valuable app on my kids ipads
I started using this app before my son could climb out of his crib. He quickly figured out that I wasn’t going to take him out until he saw the sun so once I transitioned him into a toddler bed he never got out of bed before the sun. I highly recommend this app to all parents of toddlers!
Great sleep trainer + alarm clock
We tried two different sleep training clocks until we found this app. It has many different functions—naps, alarms, reading time, bedtime music—but is still straightforward. The moon indicates sleep; the sun signifies wake up. My daughter loves customizing the screens so it’s “hers.” The backgrounds and accoutrements are quite lovely, artistically rendered rather than generic clip art.
We use the app on the iPad, so it also serves as her nightlight, with dimmable options. Since we purchased the app, my daughter has slept in her bed through the night! I think it will also continue to provide good use as she gets older and school age, with the (customizable) gentle alarms and reading time functions (scheduled time before bedtime and/or after wake up).
Finally, the developer is thoughtful and really open to feedback. I contacted him to ask about a user preference, and he responded immediately, then rolled out an update a week later.
I highly recommend this app, one of the best app purchases!
Best app for early risers who can’t tell time
My son is for, and can’t tell time. He was waking up super early and waking up the baby. We got this app and that night/morning he understood the concept and did not get out of his room until the sun came up. The baby slept, we slept, my four-year-old slept, this app is the best thing since sliced bread!
Great app!
This app is the perfect equivalent to our well loved Gro-Clock but even more portable! Really helps kids understand how much longer until it is time to get up - highly recommend! Exactly what I was looking for :)
Like it, closest to "kidsl**p blue bunny clock" that I have found.
We have been using " Kidslee* Blue Bunny Clock" for about 7 months. I SOOO wish that I had found this first. This pretty much has everything that I use, with some extra stuff that seems to make sense. That blue one was $50 +sh. This has pleasant smiling characters (sun and moon). Countdown to character change, dimming, and alarm Or no alarm. I do not like the nighttime go to sleep music though. Whale song, hairdryer, rain, etc. My preference would be a harp playing lullaby type music that could be set to incrementally decrease in volume. I also do not like that the gear(settings) is so visible to my child, most of the child apps have a code such as a math problem to get into settings. My child loves to change the numbers, sadly, he saw me access settings only once. YES! I would recommend this app.
