Description

This App is based upon the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (BCP - Episcopal Church) and the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). The purpose of the App is to provide the complete Year A, B, and C Sunday Lectionary scriptures that are normally only listed by their passages. In the past, the reader would look up the passages in the Book of Common Prayer for the applicable Year and date. Next they would individually open their Bible to the passage to obtain the reading.
By having the readings in the app database saves the reader from having to look these scriptures up. The database and supporting algorithms also provide a perpetual yearly calendar for all Sunday readings (forever).
To select the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), click the settings button in the bottom tab bar, then select RCL in the top right corner of the Settings display then click Save. You will need to close and reopen to app after changing the Lectionary setting.
I hope you and your family enjoy this App as much as I have enjoyed creating it and using it for my own family.

Sunday Lectionary Reviews

It is not opening…then it crashes

I have enjoyed using this App but recently on my iPad mini (most recent) it would keep on crashing…

Holy app for Holy Week

I find myself needing to quickly see and read the scriptures for specific Sundays while involved in planning future worship services, but I don’t like carrying extra books everywhere I go. This week I’m enjoying and being uplifted by reading the daily lectionary for each day in Holy Week as my quiet time contemplation. God is love, God is good.

The app has worked great for years. Today, it won’t open, even after a reboot. Help!

Excellent resource.

Bug fixed. Working beautifully! Very prompt developer response.

I really want to rate this higher

Blarneyfarmer on

This looks like it could be a great app if the interface was better: I cannot find a way to navigate to the Psalm, Epistle or Gospel. When I am stuck on the Hebrew Scripture Lesson I cannot rate the app greater than 1 star. Sorry. Show me where to navigate to other sections and I’ll change my review to 5 stars.

App Healed Itself (updated review)

On initial install (iPad Pro, most recent version of iOS)… the app popped the “download the database” dialog and then the app exited. Attempts to restart the app cause it to exit, even after power off reset of iPad. Several days later… it just started working. It’s a miracle! :-). OK, not really, but the app does work.

I love this App

I really love having easy access to all the Sunday readings. I use weekly in my ministry. And, I've used it more than once in an emergency to access the lost reading at the last moment when nobody else seems able to find it. I highly recommend it to anyone needing easy access to the readings in either the Revised Standard Lectionary or the BCP Lectionary. Thank you for making it available.

All of a sudden it stopped working

Developer helped me fix it with a reinstallation. Voila!

Very useful

Having the readings where I can look at them on my phone makes it very easy to check during work breaks for any words not part of my standard vocabulary so that later I can check how to pronounce or a subtle unusual meaning that would make me read it a little differently.

Thanks for the speedy update

Thanks for responding to my support request so quickly.
