Superlocal: Map Your Places

The app and idea behind it is great, however the hundreds of pop ups offering free trials when you first start the app questions its credibility and professionalism. Upon trying to click the 1-year free trial offer I immediately understood why they are triggering so many pop ups, the one year free trial actually costs you 34,99, even though it states it’s free, this is a huge scam as I only noticed that it tried to debit from my apple wallet card when my bank asked me for seperate confirmation. Maybe this was an error but I doubt it is as it lines up with them trying to drown you in pop ups to lead you into trying the free trial and take the money from you. There was no obvious support contact method within the app so this is another sign they don’t want you to contact them. I will be reporting this app and I strongly suggest everyone to avoid it as the lack of professionalism and credibility makes me think they also do dodgy things with your personal information. Be careful!

If you want to continue you have to click “free” which opens the payment overlay, if you close it again an overlay to pay basically bricks the app

I tried making my account, but when it was time to enter my phone number, a pop up to subscribe came up, without any option to close it. The only option seems to be to continue with a paid subscription. Which prevents the finishing of the registration. If this is a subscription only app, it should be more clear. Anyway, had to delete the app.

I have been looking for an app to track my location so I can relive memories, and this app is exactly what I am looking for. It simply records your steps, and even tells you what stops you have been to. It’s so simple, yet no one else has done it. Not even Polar Steps can do something this simple. With that said, only 4 stars because there are improvements to be made, but it really is the best app of it’s kind, so relative to them, this is a 5 star app. So, what improvements am I thinking about? Well, the first is just the design. Yes, it’s new, but it could have cleaner UI design. It’s a little awkward jumping to different features. Secondly, the app could run faster. I would have to look at the code, but I assume that if you didn’t have to load the paths and just the locations a person went to, you can make the app load faster. I don’t really care that much about the “fog” feature when overviewing my trips, so having that as a toggle when viewing will make the app run faster. Anyhow, that’s it for me. Good job homies, and if you want some help developing, I’m a swe so I’m down to check it out haha

This app would was a great idea but way under developed and doesn’t work for soooo many reasons the main thing being you can only see your path in a square 2 miles after zooming out it doesn’t show your line of where you went

I had to cancel my free trial without actually trying it. It never got past a screen that just said “Quick Add” with a spinner.

Creating an account with provided “or Apple Login” on Login page doesn’t work.

I thought this app was gonna be free, but i was wrong. In the developer responses on other reviews, they say that the app is completely free and offers premium options, but the app requires a subscription service. There is a 3 day free trial, but many people say that it is forcing them to pay, and when they try to cancel their subscription, it won’t let them. I feel like needing to pay money to see where you have been traveling is terrible, don’t waste your time on this app

Great idea but terrible execution. Instead of introducing random features behind paywalls you should focus on improving the core experience.

I love the idea - but reading the reviews I see that many of the problems I’m having (city and country counter not working/importing cities/deleting locations you didn’t go/etc) still don’t work right. You earn badges but there is no where to see the badges you earn. It would be nice to be able to add custom location that the you visit the app doesn’t recognize. Also would be nice to see level progress. At one point it said I was level 49 but then went back to level 38. App is very inconsistent and needs much improvement.
