Sword of Convallaria Reviews

Reviewing so RNG will be better

I am reviewing this game as 5 stars cuz I know the game will give me safiyah after today.

Artificial difficulty

Corrik on

United States

This game makes use of artificial difficulty to gate keep content ensuring only whales can win it. Instead of using its tactical battle system to smartly make a battle hard they just buff the enemy by giving them 200% more hp than normal and make them immune to every status ailment. You cant even use knock-backs against basic units because of these absurd buffs. This turns what should have been a tactical fight into a dps check that only whales can pass.

Surprisingly Good!

I can't believe there's a mobile game that is actually good. I'm blown away! If you like tactics games then look no further! It has in game currency (typical gacha style), but it makes up for it by not bombarding you with ads all the time. I've never given five stars before, but this game deserves it. I've only been playing for a few days, but that's more than I can say for most other mobile games! I've heard the game eventually plateaus and gets boring, but that's a small complaint when compared to the overwhelming amount of terrible mobile games that are guilty of so much worse. Good job devs and company, you deserve a cold beer!

Huge fan of final fantasy tactics which this game reminds me of. Very fun and multiple game play modes. Highly recommend and free is a plus.

Good: gameplay and art Bad: events and premium currency amounts

SuaveRB on

United States

Like many, I believe this game has great potential. The gameplay is quite enjoyable and the art is pretty and engaging. Unfortunately, what can become frustrating are the events and the lack of premium currency (aka expensive). Regarding the events the game makers often use event stages that require very specific gimmick to pass. This makes the game no longer about tactics and just about either burning your own time to figure out what’s the exact specific way to pass or using YouTube. No thanks. When it comes to premium currency we all recognize it’s a gacha game. However, clearing benchmarks will net you 20 diamonds. One single gacha pull is 150. That’s insanely imbalanced. First time you max out a character, have enough pulls to 5-Star a weapon, etc. all result in just 20 diamonds. But a 10-pull is 1,500. That’s just ridiculous. These games need to figure out that turning off your player base by not wanting to reward them for effort doesn’t go well. Take a note from Brown Dust 2’s reward system please. Just not their character designs lol.

Incredible game

I accidentally found SoC while buying final fantasy tactics for nostalgia purposes I am very happy I came across this game it is my favorite mobile game. Although being maxed out and beating all spirals multiple times leaves me with little to do outside of quick daily stuff like 5 mins a day thankfully they keep adding more content new spirals is very much appreciated! I am excited to do this new one just have to speed run the one I am currently on. The complaints about not enough luxite is moot if you do all events and game modes you will have enough for everyone! I am mostly F2P have made a couple small purchases and my pull luck is not great I went full 180 pity on Saf and Auguste back to back then full 100 on Homa and my wolf queen, but I have them all and a bunch of others Dantellion, beryl, Cole Safs daughter(forget her name) and a couple others I don’t use like Magnus and Miguel. Point is the game offers more than enough even for F2P!

Exceptional turned based strategy game

Grantvb on

United States

I’ve only played a handful of gacha games but this has to be hands down my favorite. I’m a huge fan of games like fire emblem, final fantasy tactics, unicorn overlord and triangle strategy. This game is definitely on par with those games and there consistently fun content and characters released regularly. I also feel the gacha elements of the game are fair to the player as well and if you don’t care for those things, there’s a single player story mode with 7+ unique routes for us to enjoy. Overall and excellent game.

RNG bad for no, or low budget players.

Wyrlin on

United States

It’s a great game and I’ve invested a lot if time, and more money than I should have. My only gripe is with the Summoning RNG results which are sadly lackluster much more often than not. At least make the daily memory crystal gains much greater like x3, or preferably x4. It’s hard to get new characters, let alone, hope that you actually get other Epic, or Legendary characters that you need to Star boost. Do that, then I’ll give it 5 stars. Otherwise, I still enjoy it. I just don’t have as much time and money as other players. Just sayin’ 😅🤷🏻
