The biggest issue I am having with Symplast is not being able to use my magic keyboard in the eRx function. My magic keyboard works in all the other functions; it does not work in the eRx function.

Patient User experience could be better

Simple fix for registering the app would be a much simpler calendar option for entering Date of Birth….scrolling through 50 years of months is not exactly user friendly!

Worst EMR Out There - DON'T waste your time or money

Newps33 on

United States

I have been in the plastic surgery & aesthetics industry for 14 years & have used almost every EMR system out there. This is by the far the worst system. I personally have worked with it for 2 years now. First of all - if you are a business with more than 1 entity DO NOT even attempt to use this - it is not built for more than 1 location if you want funds to stay seperated. The financials module is the worst I've ever seen. There are constantly 'bugs' whitin the financial module, the system will calculate funds incorrectly - it will say a balance is due when it's not or show a credit on a patients account when there isn't. This only leads to multiple customer service issues at the front desk. There is NO edit feature for payments / refunds - so if anything is entered incorrectly like CC#, $ amount etc. You have to DELETE and start over. Then the deleted one just stays there, same color, same look, same everything with 'deleted' in one of the many columns. If a refund needs to be edited or deleted you have to submit a ticket to support, then they send that request to their 'technical team' & in 3-5 days it will be deleted. The support techs do not document in activity notes what changes they've made, you can only see the changes if you know what they changed, then you can look at the history of that specific transaction. There have been multiple 'bugs' within the scheduler - it will be off by a day (like Monday is on Sunday, Tuesday is on Monday, etc.). We did not realize this at first and scheduled a full clinic day on the wrong day and had to move an entire day of patients. Same thing happened with the providers default schedules / templates & a vacation was off by a day & again patients were scheduled where a provider was on vacation and we had to move an entire day. The system overall is not user friendly and there are SO MANY steps to do the simplest thing. Our front office team is so frustrated with how long it takes to add a new patient and schedule an appointment. The intake form is built into the system and once the patient fills it out once, it can NOT be resent. So for every new year when we need an updated H&P, we have to manually email out the form & then we have to MANUALLY enter the edits and scan in the document. They are aware of this & have told me for 2 years it's a priority & there is no estimated date of an update still. The virtual connect option was one of the selling points & its great when it works but half of our p

Check Out/ Financials

Check out should be easier, so many steps and this process can be simplified. Packages / Invoices are messy. Consider populating a right click to check out that will populate to invoice. It would be nice to have the “scheduled purpose” populate into the invoice. Also, at check out if client has any pre paid services it would be nice for a pop up box to come up with option to exhaust services rather than looking through pkg’s and editing/linking the services! So frustrating and time consuming.

BAD UPDATE

MedSpa3940 on

Latest update does not let us tie our legal forms to services now. They are grey and you can’t click them. If certain setting need to be in place that should have been mentioned BEFORE the update went out. Our business in on hold for today due to not being able to access our legal forms.

Being compliant during COVID-19

Dr. Rob W. on

In March of 2019 it became apparent that Texas was going to shut down after Italy closed and more specifically the way New York was responding to COVID-19. Two weeks prior to our shutdown on March24th I converted as many appointments as possible to Virtual because I had already been utilizing the Virtual Consultation by Symplast for quite some time. It was one of the main reasons I changed EMR vendors. Simply the communication aspect was more developed. The iMessage text thread and built in video separated them easily in my eyes. With the launch of the Symplast 2.0 which provides the business analytics which I want and everyone needs their system is more robust than ever and I am extremely comfortable with switching early.

Needs more

Please add more useful features for quick checkout and rescheduling. Sooo many steps to take for most things that should be a one step system. Also: limiting the desktop version is pointless and frustrating. Some things are excellent but some are far behind.

Unethical from the top

mcc in austin on

Still waiting for a response from the CEO on keeping our $8500 after the implementation team was incapable of delivering what the sales team promised and sold. Week after week is another excuse. Comes from the top as our correspondence is directly with the CEO who promises to correct the problem but is clearly just trying to stall.

I have gone thru quite a few electronic health care systems and Symplast by far is the best. It is easy to access data anywhere in the worlds. Archiving photos is extremely easy. With the ability to use templates I can finish my exams as I am walking out the room. If a patient contacts me after hours I can access there chart within seconds and get all the information I need. Great app for plastic Surgeons.
