Variety Is The Spice Of Life

A quote from The Hobbit: “Everything tastes like chicken except the chicken, which tastes like fish!” I tried the free version just to get an idea on the accuracy of the four instruments. They all sounded like the same patch except the Blau, which sounded like the chime setting on an old Kimball organ. Not impressed at this point. I only want three of the synths offered, is it possible to get just those on IOS?

Not functional

Big fan of IK Amplitube is amazing. But this app is simply unusable. The UI is cool completely unresponsive. Adding a MIDI controller just makes it worse. The non mobile version is really good. This one is not.

I LIKE IT BUT....

App version needs a deep editing feature for changing waveforms with sub-oscillators. Overall, it’s awesome!

Great collection of synths but crashes

Beautifully sampled collection of classic synths. Only problems I’m having is excessive crashes in iPadOS 15 using beatmaker, AUM and stand alone versions.

Sounds great. Classic sounds. Blows on Audiobus. Unsure how much use I’ll get out of it.

Good synth / terrible company

The hardware products are good and innovative ..but many come with cheap proprietary chords ..that are not easy to replace...why do this to your people?..maybe to make more money I guess?..but not cool.. The customer service is probably the worst I can think of.. no phone ..they will respond with , what seems like a Robot that is no help, very hard and frustrating to get any help...the software is just a trap to hook you into the pricey ecosystem..it’s actually decent yes..but not worth it to deal with this company on any level..shame because it could be different and Ik could be awesome but , I don’t have much faith..rn *Use caution or just don’t use there products ,many other options *I will update if it gets better..I do use the Irig keys i/o , its very cool but has awful cords..and is not easy to assign functions...not many videos , and again ..the support is a cruel joke

It’s worth it...

If you know what you are doing with the app and how to do professional grade music production, you can get solid sounds. Otherwise, there are plenty of great synth apps that don’t cost as much. This is app for deep hobbyists and pro producers.

Probably not worth it

The free version is too limited for most proposes. The keyboard is glitchy and doesn't respond to touch. The full desktop software is good though. It's a shame buying the deluxe doesn't come with the deluxe mobile version. If that changes I'll consider updating this review.

Generous demo

This package has a few problems but let’s be fair. PROS: It is a great product demo. All the knobs are live. You can save patches. You get several FREE synths. You get 4 layers, each with a huge range of options. You get a stunning FX rack for each synth. It’s an all-in-one unit, compares favorably with Analog Lab and much more versatile. They HAD to withhold something so they only gave us a few basic patches. OK, I get it. You have to play with the knobs. A reasonable compromise to give full use of the synths and still have something to upsell. I LOVE this app, I can’t stop playing with it. Really, it’s a marvel of engineering. CONS: The onscreen keyboard has some issues, it has a narrow sweet spot, as do the other controls. I find it hard to grab a control and go. I have to touch it right in the middle. Seems like there is enough room on the panels to allow some overshoot IE a wider finger area. At first I thought the app was really buggy but it’s just a “narrow” GUI which makes it a bit frustrating. But otherwise it’s great. I do think there are some bugs, perhaps due to the extremely deep functions available in this app. Once in a while it does something weird. That said, I have found it EXTREMELY intuitive and easy to program and design patches. A joy. And the modular FX rack is so AMAZING I only wish it came with an audio input for studio use. Really, it’s like every vintage piece of gear you could ever want. Stellar modeling. The studio and synth world is in transition. Many manufacturers are trying to come up with the best combo of sounds and analog modeling to give their customers a bit of everything. Considering this is a FREE demo, I think IK has been startlingly generous and wants to grab our attention with a working model of all their products rolled into one. It runs nicely on my iPad Air 2 and I’m experimenting with the VST version too. I’m just another broke musician but I have a lot of production experience and in the right hands this is a very real workhorse of an app. Thanks for being kind. It’s not a toy and it sounds wonderful. Geza X
