Definitely time to try this again!
Of sound actually came out this would be great for my dnd sessions, but no sound comes out and I seem to not be the only person with this issue
The app doesn’t play sounds it’s completely broken on iPad.
This app doesn’t play sound. It’s a cool idea and I was keen to try it and pay for additional features but the damned thing doesn’t work. Don’t waste your time... developer clearly gave up on this product and moved to other apps as there’s other reviews saying the same thing.
Used to work great but has since stopped working :(
This app won’t run in the background while I have other things running on my iPad, which makes it useless for my purposes. You also can’t purchase/subscribe within the app, which is kind of ridiculous in 2019. Don’t bother - there are other web-based soundboards out there which don’t have these problems.
No sounds on new IPad...tried re-starting, resetting, doesn’t work
It's a good app. It does still need a little tweaking but all in all works well. I think the program was mainly created for use with laptops/PC's and altered for apps afterward. That would explain a few of the in app issues. To provide answers to some questions on other reviews....it is true that there is no way to register within the app, which is a little antiquated in this day and age. You have to go to the actual website itself to create an account. A little annoying for an app I grant you but it's not as if it is impossible to do from your tablets internet apps. This is one of those tweaks that would be good, a way to register in app. There is also an issue with the sound output itself. The only way to play and hear the sounds is to connect your device to an external set of speakers (wired or wireless, your pick). The on board speakers do not output the sounds. I can find nothing within the settings to change this. I am using this on an iPad at present as I'm using my better Samsung tablet for other aspects of roleplay, so it is possible it may be a problem inherent to an Apple device. This problem is what makes me believe that this was mainly developed for a laptop as they have proper onboard speakers. So an update allowing playback through a tablets speakers is needed. Every other music/sound app I know of is smart enough to know if it needs to play through the tablets speakers or change when a wired or wireless connection is established. Nothing should stop this app from doing the same. The only real issue I have with the app is this (and I've only just started using it so there could be other hidden glitches I haven't found yet). Within each soundscape there is a boxed area in the lower right corner with a collection of basic sounds. These sounds never change from scape to scape, and there is no way to edit them. It would be great if there was a list of these sounds that could be added, and others removed, so as to create custom sounds for my particular group or campaign in this said boxed area.
I saw this at PAX Australia and was very excited at the idea. Just installed the app. Unfortunately, the first thing I saw upon opening the app was a requirement to log in to access any sounds, even the free ones. This seems very out of place on a mobile app - I would expect to access everything just by opening the app, and would expect premium content to be behind a paywall but certainly not a login. I use a lot of modular music and sound apps, too, (e.g. Weather effects), so I'm familiar with these sorts of apps, and requiring a login is unusual. However, I still loved the idea, so was prepared to register an account, albeit reluctantly. Problem number 2: The app provides a login screen, but no register button. I checked settings and there was no option there either. If there was a way to register an account, I couldn't find one. So I can't access the sounds unless I have an account, but the app provides no way to create an account. Which leaves it completely unusable. I assume there's something I'm missing because other reviewers have been able to get it working, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Problem #3: All audio content needs to be downloaded separately to the app, which is a bit of a pain. It would be nice to have at least a few available free sounds in the app by default. Getting to the end of a download excited to test out some sounds, only to be faced with an 'actually, we need you to do another download' message is another disappointing let-down. However, I can't access them anyway, so it's a moot point. Very disappointed that the content is entirely inaccessible. Would have loved to try this one out but hopefully this review will encourage the devs to fix the critical usability problems.
It seems like it works at random after closing and reopening the app a few times. I've been wanting something like this instead of looking up tracks on YouTube and this would be perfect if it was a little more reliable. Don't really have access to a laptop the majority of the time, but I still have to test out the web version
