Taalam

Taalam

Description

Taala is Sanskrit ताल for rhythm. This app is intended to help Carnatic musicians to have a reference tAlam lookup when a real tAlam buddy is not present in the audience or on stage or during practice.
The Seven tAlams are available for selection on the main screen along with a looping visual video of the reference tAlam, in the choice of Jaathi ( 3, 4, 5, 7, 9). The seven tAlams Dhruva, Matya, Rupka, Jhampa, Triputa, Ata and Eka, can be played in any of the five JAthis, Tishram(3), Chatushram(4), Khandam(5), Mishram(7) and Sankeernam(9). The tap-tap-turn rupaka variant is in chatushram.
Speed can be changed by tapping the arrows next to the play button. To play the popular "Aadi" Taalam, Select "Triputa" taalam and pick "4" on the count selection.
We sincerely hope you find this app useful in your musical journey. All videos are original Copyright softwarebyvr.
