TachyMon was created by the developer for his niece Alex, who was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) in the fall of 2021. POTS seems to be an increasingly common diagnosis, especially for young women. People with POTS often experience fatigue, brain fog, rapid heart rate increases and other symptoms. Alex was experiencing frequent fainting (syncope) and we noticed the fainting occurred when her heart rate increased rapidly, or when her heart rate reached a certain absolute threshold (150 BPM in her case). Alex finds that the TachyMon alerts help her to sit or crouch down when her heart rate is elevated, and this helps her to avoid fainting, and to feel a bit more in control of her POTS.

It is a simple, but specialized app, and we hope it may help others with POTS, or people in other situations when it may be useful to monitor heart rate changes.

APPLE HEALTH
TachyMon integrates with the Apple Health app. TachyMon stores workout information (including heart rate) with the Apple Health app.

WARNING: It is important to consult with medical professionals if you are concerned about your health. The TachyMon app is intended for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for specialized medical care.

Love this app

Small_friie on

Love this app as a way to track my heart rate and its variables over the course of the day. Super easy to use too. Just wish there was a way to export the data into an excel type format to filter it down further, work out averages, high symptom days etc to give to my doctors. apart from that highly recommend.

Great watch app -can’t download phone app.

I love this app! It’s so simple but perfectly effective. I was excited to hear that there was a phone app version but I can’t seem to download it after having the watch only app installed. App Store button says already “purchased”. Tried deleting app on watch but made no difference in App Store.

Data on phone app

qwertyuiop_123 on

I’ve recently been diagnosed with POTS and was looking was a way to get alerts to my watch when my heart rate spikes. I started using the app a few days ago and it worked alright. However, when I checked the app on my phone today, it only had data from one day even though I’ve had numerous alerts on my watch on the days since then. Please fix this or tell me what I’m doing wrong because I love the concept of this app and find it really useful but I need the data on my phone to show to doctors etc. Also, is there a way to make the alerts vibration only because while the beeping sound is ok for when I’m at home, I can’t have it going off while I’m at school. Thank you

Brilliant

Using this app in conjunction with seizalarm for my son while he’s at school. My son has WPW syndrome and epilepsy.

Bugs with latest update

there are ghosts in my igloo on

The app updated overnight a couple of days ago. Had problems starting monitoring. In the App Store, it mentions a iPhone companion app, but I can’t find it anywhere! Deleted the app from my watch. Now I can’t reinstall it, If I look through my purchases, it doesn’t show. But it does still show as purchased on the App Store, not as a little cloud to download. It wasn’t broken before the update, not what was a brilliant app is gone

Brilliant app

My daughter has been recently diagnosed with POTS straight after having her first baby. This is all new to us and we are researching into it as much as possible to be able to help her get her life back and be able to look after her baby without worrying if or when her next episode is about to happen. Finding this App has been a huge relief in knowing she can be alerted and get to ground to avoid fainting. The only question I have is which version of Apple Watch do you recommend buying? Thank you for creating this brilliant app it will bring great comfort to many with this diagnosis 🙏

Has been so helpful for my POTS

Only downfall is the limits of my Apple Watch, it seems to detect my tachy moments slightly later than other devices (pulse ox, chest strap etc)
