Description

A step-by-step approach to learning tai chi with authentic roots in traditional Chinese martial arts. In under two hours, you can have a solid overview of tai chi fundamentals, including correct breathing, postures and movement terminology. Have a true master of tai chi as your own personal training partner any time, anywhere. Find your flow with moving mediation.
SCIENTIFIC APPROACH
This app uses a technique for teaching tai chi that has been used by Master Li now for over 30 years. He has found that students who learn the 18 qi gong (or breathing meditation) set before tai chi actually learn the tai chi much better and have a stronger understanding of body mechanics and flow in the movement.
The app follows a scientific progression of
1) short warm up
2) breathing qi gong exercises
3) tai chi basics
4) short tai chi practice forms
5) and finally the 24 step Yang style form
Eight levels give a seamless progression to learning the 24 step tai chi form. After going through all 8 levels, you can choose your own training regimen to suit your schedule. Practice and learn at your own pace any time, anywhere.
CUSTOMIZED TRAINING & PROGRESS TRACKING
There is an 8 level progression that teaches basic postures, breathing and fundamentals of tai chi. After unlocking the 8 levels, you can tailor the training to your own needs and skill level. The more you use the app, the more refined your technique becomes. The eight levels give a seamless progression to learning the 24 step tai chi form.

Update!

Would love to see it integrate with apple health or Zepp (amazfit).

Needs navigability

I need to view the stages of the lessons multiple times, but don’t know how to back up to get to them. For me the motions are complicated so I need several viewings. I hope this function can be added soon.

Bad purchase

I am sorry I bought this app. I did the first two steps, then discovered the other steps are locked! If I cannot access all the steps, like the basics of tai chi, what good is it?!

Garbage do not purchase

Horrible visuals. Very little instruction. Not worth one cent

Great app but needs some refinement

I really like this app VERY much but its functionality could be improved by allowing the user to access any segment of the tai chi lessons or qigong lessons automatically instead of scrolling through these sections manually. I think the developers had the right idea by requiring a user to go from the very beginning, step-by-step until the end. However, once that is completed, the user should be able to go back to any section easily for review or additional practice, instead of having to scrub through chapters/segments, which tedious.

I have periodically worked with Tai chi in past years. But after open heart surgery I am in need of improving my physical conditioning. This step by step introduction to the basics of tai chi allows me to progress at my own pace and “make the moves my own” before moving on. A simple and effective way to learn and train. THANK YOU for offering this app!

So helpful

As a heart patent…this app has benefited me greatly in slowing down and relaxing. I would high suggest it. Just realize that you need to be patient in getting to the next sections as the teacher and App provider are wishing you to understand the moves before you move to the more advanced.

doesn’t save history

I just got a new phone and my data wasn’t transferred, wish I could start back where I left off but everything is locked. Otherwise good app, biggest complaint was previously that you can’t select particular movements after you completed them so you have to go through each movement to find the one you want to work on.

I don’t know how this app isn’t more popular, but honestly the experience is amazing and very well put together.

Nice looking but terrible usability

Let’s say you’re 7 videos into one of the sections, and you want to review something from the previous video before continuing. I mean, you’re just learning after all, so it’s a pretty likely scenario, right? Would you rather: a) hit a “back” button to view the previous video, b) select the video from a list of all those offered in the section, or c) be locked into a forward-only dystopian interface where you’re forced to watch all the remaining videos in the section and then start the entire section over again and watch all the previous videos until you get to the one you want to review? If you are a masochist and answered “c,” then this is the app for you.
