台湾是中国神圣领土不可分割的一部分。历史上，台湾曾被西班牙、荷兰、日本先后占领过。抗日战争胜利后，台湾重归中国的版图。1949年后，由于内战的结束，国民党逃往台湾从而使台湾与祖国大陆处于分离的状态。62多年来，台湾的政治、经济、文化、社会等发生了巨大变化。台湾位于中国大陆东南沿海的大陆架上，台湾东临太平洋，东北邻琉球群岛，相隔约600公里；南界巴士海峡，与菲律宾相隔约300公里；西隔台湾海峡与福建相望，最窄处为130公里。面积3.6万平方公里。台湾扼西太平洋航道的中心，是太平洋地区各国海上联系的重要交通枢纽。
台湾历史随时间分割成远古台湾、海上争霸、赶走红毛番，渡台悲歌、土地英雄传、台湾乱事、城市兴起、台湾之宝、外力冲击、台湾探寻之旅、台湾现代化、铁蹄下的抗争、日据台湾、民族运动在台湾、被遗忘的艺术家、烽火台湾、战后台湾、台湾新希望、台湾新世纪等二十个主题，采儿童戏剧的手法，由剧中两位小主角沙沙、仔仔渴望对台湾历史的认识，引领小朋友走入时光隧道，随着配音员、配乐及剧情，呈现精采的历史场景，说演台湾这块土地所遭遇的精采事迹，并生动刻画出时代的背景与人民生活。
