Life is full of uncertainty. Fear can paralyze all of us, old or young. Talking with a confidant can take the power away from our fear monsters. Chris’ insightful story is charming, silly and cleverly illustrated. The app is interactive and good for young minds in this world’s positive entertainment vacuum. We all need to talk about our monsters.

Great Book!

After having read this with my own children, I noticed how the message behind the story really resonated with them…we all have fears of one kind or another. Talking about them let’s us see that maybe they aren’t as scary or bad as they may seem, and also allows others to help us to deal with them.

Great idea, but..

It’s a great idea to offer this book in an app, but the app is very difficult to use. The pages are difficult to turn. No matter how much I swiped, it would lift the page up but wouldn’t turn it. I also couldn’t get the app to read the story aloud. Instead, I had to press each word which isn’t logical when reading to a child.

A delightful book from a masterful children’s writer

Wonderful book that my little girl asks me to read just about every night. Such a simple story but a lesson that the most jaded of us could use. Don’t avoid your fears - don’t feed them, face them! Thanks Mr. Christopher!!

A Little Book of Hope

The narrative of this sweet book is filled with hope...the hope that deep down, under fear, can be understanding and with that understanding, gained through dialogue, the strength to move through the restraint of fear to courage and maybe even love.

Putting an end to Monsters!

Great story because we all deal with monsters in our lives. When you become an adult, if you don’t deal with them, they will constantly keep reappearing in different situations.

In love with this book/app/song

I cannot sing the praises of “Talk About the Monster” enough. First, the theme of this book is phenomenal. It has led to a serious discussion with my 4-year-old son about expressing our fears, especially to an adult. This life lesson extends beyond simply monsters under the bed. The interactive elements and “Read to Me” feature of this app are incredibly helpful in keeping my young one’s attention. He’s engaged and excited about every page. The last page of the book links out to other “Talk About the Monster” content, including a catchy song that has been on replay in my house. My son also has expanded his vocabulary, asking me to define words so he can better understand the book. As a licensed elementary school teacher, I wouldn’t hesitate to have this book in my classroom. And this app conveniently goes everywhere my son goes.

Excellent!
