Tandem Reviews

Joke of an app

Big Boi Maki on

Norway

The app is pretty basic, surprised nobody else hasn’t taken the idea and improved it. There are so many Chinese bots trying to fish for your info it’s crazy. They’ll ban you for no reason. Whoever is running the app are completely useless and needs to be replaced.

The APP works

Jorgenheng on

Norway

The APP is doing everything correctly, the only reason I consider giving it a 4 would be because many people aren’t interested in learning languages, but rather find a relationship etc. However I can’t see a solution to this, people are people.

Annoying notifications

lnd ln on

Norway

Works really well when you’re active, but god damn it’s annoying that it sends notifications about «You have 15 unread messages waiting in your inbox» when there’s literally 0. Stop trying to bait us into giving you more ad revenue, thanks 🙂

Good way to meet new people and learn languages

Misanthra on

Norway

Well moderated, good community, haven’t had any issues with the people there. Only problem is that i can’t seem to update the profile once it’s written, and i’ve heard it’s the same for others

Love this- It is Peacework

Trodde det skulle være litt skummelt, men appen er kjempebra, reklamen er ikke for mye i veien, de aller fleste er veldig snille og jeg føler at jeg kommer til å få lært mye!!

Best app for learning

dplay/ex on the beach on

Norway

Tried learning german using doulingo. But progress was slow and i didnt really learn practical german. But using tandem i learn german from natives and learn how to sound like a german. Im a bit bummed that the pro version cost so much but the free version is great aswell

Banned for no reason

Kjartan2 on

Norway

I used this app for more than two years being nothing but respectful to others. Suddenly I get an unexplicable «warning» and then shortly after I’ve been permanently banned, losing all contact with the many friends I had on the app and with whom I never exchanged other contact information. Tandem support does not reply. From what it seems they do not manually go through cases of reportings and rather you just get automatically banned forever after two people report you for whatever reason, it could be for merely disliking you. Apparently it’s not ok to be human on this app. I recommend you use hellotalk instead, people are more serious about learning there.

Nice app

Easy to use

Very good

Alfredos2 on

Norway

Tandem is easy to use and there are enough native speakers of almost any language possible on it. My only problems with it are the following: The chats are not always updated immediately and one has to force the app to get the latest messages and show them There is no easy reply function, so most people use the comment function to reply. This is a minor inconvenience. I hope the developers fix these and I could then give them 5 stars :)
