Taormina APP has been developed by T.net allowing tourists and citizens to better enjoy their experience of a true Smart and Digital city. Through the APP users can access the services offered by Taormina city such as; tourist information on interesting places and ancient ruins (Teatro antico, Neumachia etc. etc), the change to have real-time information on the public transport and busses status, news regarding cultural and entertainment events and many others useful service. As for as mobility the APP has been developed to monitor and control traffic jams situation, reporting accidents and queues at access point of Taormina, the status of the parking lots and accessibility to the city tunnel. An interesting aspect was the development of a special function that allows you to monitor and evaluate Air Quality Index to help, not only the PA to give environmental alarms, but also to help allergic people enjoy the city and its beauties. The APP back-end also allows shopkeepers to access a reserved area by registering and enter their commercial activity as Point of Interest, make particular promotions visible and opening a real virtual showcase so that with the geo-localization and proximity system targeted mobile advertising campaigns can be activated.
