Description

Create an exhibition stand to display your fossils.
Gradually restore and develop the run down museum.

-Set out to excavate fossils.
Discover fossils to display in the exhibition stand. You can choose your dig site from the map. Enjoy wondering about what kind of dinosaur fossil you will unearth!
Please the visitors to the museum by collecting and assembling every part of the fossils.

-Raise your level.
Raise the level of your museum. Eventually you will receive many visitors.
Raise the level of your character. You can increase the number of excavations.
Raise the level of your pickaxe. This widens the range of rocks that you can destroy.

-Collect fossils.
You can collect your fossils in the storehouse and install your preferred fossils wherever you like.
(However, some fossils cannot be displayed depending on the type of exhibition stand.)

-Earn money.
Visitors will pay to come and see your fossils.
The amount of money they spend will vary depending on the type of customer and their satisfaction level (based on the state of your fossil collection.)
With the money you earn you can fund excavations, make exhibition stands, and level up.

This is a very enjoyable game

Imaginative spin on scratch cards

Yes, this game is fundamentally a scratch card game wrapped in a more interesting format. Digging for fossils is entirely luck-based, not only in what you find—if anything—but also if it is “new”. The pattern is repetitive, with the first 3-4 excavations returning all new fossils, and then almost always only one new. You can increase your chances of finding something (not necessarily new) by spending real money for power ups. As with most of this type of game, the mechanics and metrics are entirely secret, allowing for sneaky changes behind the scenes that slow down the game and push the player to spend more real money to maintain the same pace. How much money does a guest spend? How long does a bus stay? (I notice that one person will linger for 5-10 minutes now, meaning 69 people are on the bus and not spending money.) How many bones are in each skeleton (and how many digs are necessary to complete one)? How is money earned when idle? (Inconsistently, that’s how.) At its core, this isn’t a game. It’s a gamble. It’s an activity. That doesn’t mean it’s bad or wrong or not fun. But it isn’t a game. There’s no strategy. There’s no skill. It’s 100% luck based on the programmed algorithms, which, like any game of chance, are ultimately skewed in favour of the house. The concept is good but poorly executed in this respect. If parameters were made clear, if an element of skill or strategy were introduced, if the mechanics were explained, then this would be an excellent game, with my only desire being for a slightly more educational experience by including more information about the dinosaurs. But it’s not a game, it’s not for children, and it poses a risk to those recovering from gambling addictions.
