Description

TBI prognosis is an interactive calculator to estimate mortality at 14 days and death and severe disability at six months in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The predictions are based on the average outcome in adult patients with Glasgow coma score of 14 or less, within 8 hours of injury.
The mathematical model used in this application was published in 2008 (BMJ 2008;336:425) and was conceived using data from the CRASH study (The Lancet, Volume 364, Issue 9442, Pages 1321 - 1328, 9 October 2004).
This application is intended for medical professionals involved in the management of patients with traumatic brain injuries. Use of this application requires medical training and can only support - not replace - clinical judgment. This application is not intended for patients or their relatives.
