Motor plan

SLP Ashley on

I love the new organization and overall navigation of the motor plan version of TD snap. I am an SLP and I would like to use this version as AAC trials for some of the students I work with. Unfortunately, the speech output is not working on this version. The sounds seem to be working otherwise and in the old TDSnap pages as well. Please help fix this issue. Thank you.

I like it (an autistic user)

Elmoremy on

I like the app and how it’s fully customizable to my liking. I use it here and there. I like how it’s only 50 bucks, not too expensive. I’ve used this app for a year now and I’ve come to love it. I’m learning new languages along with being able to organize my thoughts. I made my own homepage, modeled after someone else’s. I’ve recommended TD snap to almost everyone I’ve come in contact with. I want to try P2Go, but it’s too expensive for me, so I’ll stick to m6TD snap. I am considering Gateway but it’s way past my budget and I’ve already done the trial, so I’ll stick to the regular set.

One of the best!

Autism acceptance on

First of all, I’d like to start out with letting you know that I am in no means a speech language pathologist and this is purely my opinion. I am just a semi-verbal autistic looking for the right app. I started using AAC about a year ago. Back then, I wasn’t sure if it was for me. Before buying this app I highly recommend trying out a free app such as “I can communicate” (android) or “let me talk” (iOS) it might be a little strange or difficult at first but if you like it after a while, this could be a great purchase for you. It’s incredibly customizable. Especially for people with not just vocal apraxia but other motor disabilities that limit their ability to accurately press small buttons. The snap core first page set can really accommodate to almost any disability or age group. So this is something that you could start using at age 4 and continue using it into adulthood if necessary. I have tried MANY other AAC programs and while I found some really good ones, this is on another level. It is so easy for the user to communicate with a large vocabulary. I now easily use the largest grid size which was really challenging for me in other programs. I’ve used other programs in which the AAC felt very limiting. I could say what I wanted and what I needed but I couldn’t really have a full conversation with someone the way neurotypicals could. Now I can. I think another really important thing to realize, is that just because a disabled person is verbal, doesn’t mean they don’t struggle with communication. Some people forget their words or they just don’t know how to properly create a sentence. Some people struggle with stuttering. Some can speak perfectly but don’t really understand the meaning of their words. This program helps with that and more. If you are the caregiver or parent of someone with a disability, this program is definitely worth a try. You can use the built in keyboard to help teach your communicator to read, and also show them social stories. You can teach them how to set timers and wait patiently and even make a script for the communicator so they can understand how to properly participate in a conversation and what is usually expected of them to say. And if your communicator isn’t ready for a full on conversation, that’s ok. There are plenty of ways to customize this to be as simple as you need and work from there. There’s a particular acsessability setting in which you can pick how long the button has to be pressed in order to work. This is

My favorite AAC program

Contemporary Autist on

For me, this app is well worth the cost. The program is more customizable than any other that I have used, and the prediction buttons are very, very helpful. The symbols are of great quality, and I love that you can change the colors to suit your preferences. The voices are very clear and not as awkward-sounding as some other text-to-speech options. I would highly recommend this app to anyone with complex communication needs. Also, it is about a quarter of the price that most AAC apps sell for, and does not require a subscription. Sometimes if I am editing a lot, the program will crash, but I only lose the changes to the last button I was editing, so it is just a small inconvenience.

Love the app but updated to iOS 13

Will with autism on

So I updated to the latest version of iOS and I'm now experiencing a lot more bugs with snap. Very upsetting.

App Does not open and it crashes

Rsgduke on

I am an SLP who is always researching and purchasing AAC apps, I had the free version of Snap+Core and was able to use it without technical difficulties last school year. Today as I prepared my lessons, I tried opening it and it crashed, so I updated my IOS to newest version thinking it was on me. Then I deleted the free app and re-installed it and it still crashed. So I decided to purchase the FULL version thinking the free version was defective, and having the FULL version paid for 49.99 in the apple store would guarantee me a functional app. However, the app did not open and it crashed as did the free version. I really liked this app and have two students I modeled AAC communication on Snap+Core, all my other students are on other AAC apps, I am very disappointed that this AAC app was developed for communication is non-functional even with the FULL PAID VERSION. I welcome the developers to help me solve the problem, and solve this issue for future purchases. I emailed the tech support system, but have not received a response.

Volume randomly stops working

ysefkjhmmmmmmmjjhfsf on

Great app but when the volume randomly stops working, how is that beneficial to a person using it to communicate?
