TEFpad ist ein Tabulatur Editor, welcher die meisten Funktionen des TablEdit Programms implementiert und ursprünglich für das iPad entwickelt wurde. Die App wurde jetzt auch für iPhone und iPod Touch angepasst.
Wie TEFview für iOS, der kostenlose Datei-Viewer, öffnet, zeigt, druckt (als PDF) und spielt TEFpad alle TablEdit-Dateien (.tef Format) und importiert viele Arten von Musik-Dateien (ASCII-Tabulaturen, ABC-Dateien, MusicXML, MIDI, PowerTab...)
Darüber hinaus importiert TEFpad Guitar Pro und TabRite Dateien.
Vor allem können Sie damit neue Partituren von Grund auf erstellen.
Dateien, welche Sie auf Ihrem Gerät mit TEFpad erstellt haben, können ohne Beschränkung bearbeitet und gespeichert werden.
Warnung: Dateien, welche nicht mit TEFpad erstellt oder in TEFpad importiert wurden, können bearbeitet werden. Allerdings können nur die ersten 16 Takte dieser Dateine gespeichert werden. Ebenfalls, erlaubt TEFpad nicht das Kopieren von Inhalten einer dieser Dateien in eine andere .tef Datei. Um diese Beschränkungen aufzuheben, können Sie TEFpad Pro erwerben (TEFpad Pro ist verfügbar als In-App Kauf).
Die .tef Dateien, welche mit TEFpad erstellt werden, können selbstverständlich in TablEdit wieder geöffnet und weiter bearbeitet werden.

Not quite what I was hoping for

This tablet version isn’t incredibly intuitive, but that’s just a learning curve I suppose. What really bothers me is it says it supports a keyboard, but really you must use the virtual keyboard and the Apple Magic Keyboard is NOT supported. I was looking forward to this replacing my laptop for tab editing, but it’s awkward to use while I am also holding my instrument since I have to poke around on the screen. So there’s my biggest feature request. Until then I guess it’s back to pencil and paper.

I like this app and bought the pro version upgrade today but now the app has reverted to the LE version. Apple shows the pro purchase so what happened. Restoring the pro purchase was successful but I lost a significant amount of work.

The Best App for writing Tablature for me.

I use this app for writing tab for bass guitar. I’ve tried other apps that offer similar functionality. None of them compare to the usability and completeness of TEFPad. There is a bit of a learning curve to get proficient with it. However, the more you use it the faster you get. I feel that there are some things that aren’t covered very well in the user guide. But I still give this app a full 5 stars. Do save your work in progress often, though. Also, the support from the developer is outstanding.

The app assumes you know all the musical terms necessary to compose a song. The help function is useless. It throws items on the tab by all by itself, without any explanation as to why, and there is no information to learn from. As an example, trying to match the format of a tab I found in a book, it required a “double line” at the beginning of the measure. I found it in the pallet, tried to add it, but it wouldn’t show up. However, it did randomly place double lines on two other measures in the tab. And now I can’t get rid of them. Oh, how about the app crashing when you print? That’s fun too. Glitchy…but its all we have.

I was using the lite version and then when I went and upgraded, wow buggy, buggy, buggy. Audio quits playing so I have to restart the app; trying to add song info is very temperamental, adding pull offs to the first couple of notes gives me a tie that spans two bars. It’s a bit clunky as it is with the lite version, but workable. Now very frustrated with the upgrade. Should have stuck with lite.
