Description

Pure instant messaging — simple, fast, secure, and synced across all your devices. One of the world's top 10 most downloaded apps with over 500 million active users.
FAST: Telegram is the fastest messaging app on the market, connecting people via a unique, distributed network of data centers around the globe.
SYNCED: You can access your messages from all your phones, tablets and computers at once. Telegram apps are standalone, so you don’t need to keep your phone connected. Start typing on one device and finish the message from another. Never lose your data again.
UNLIMITED: You can send media and files, without any limits on their type and size. Your entire chat history will require no disk space on your device, and will be securely stored in the Telegram cloud for as long as you need it.
SECURE: We made it our mission to provide the best security combined with ease of use. Everything on Telegram, including chats, groups, media, etc. is encrypted using a combination of 256-bit symmetric AES encryption, 2048-bit RSA encryption, and Diffie–Hellman secure key exchange.
100% FREE & OPEN: Telegram has a fully documented and free API for developers, open source apps and verifiable builds to prove the app you download is built from the exact same source code that is published.
POWERFUL: You can create group chats with up to 200,000 members, share large videos, documents of any type (.DOCX, .MP3, .ZIP, etc.) up to 2 GB each, and even set up bots for specific tasks. Telegram is the perfect tool for hosting online communities and coordinating teamwork.
RELIABLE: Built to deliver your messages using as little data as possible, Telegram is the most reliable messaging system ever made. It works even on the weakest mobile connections.
FUN: Telegram has powerful photo and video editing tools, animated stickers and emoji, fully customizable themes to change the appearance of your app, and an open sticker/GIF platform to cater to all your expressive needs.
SIMPLE: While providing an unprecedented array of features, we take great care to keep the interface clean. Telegram is so simple you already know how to use it.
PRIVATE: We take your privacy seriously and will never give any third parties access to your data. You can delete any message you ever sent or received for both sides, at any time and without a trace. Telegram will never use your data to show you ads.
For those interested in maximum privacy, Telegram offers Secret Chats. Secret Chat messages can be programmed to self-destruct automatically from both participating devices. This way you can send all types of disappearing content — messages, photos, videos, and even files. Secret Chats use End-to-End Encryption to ensure that a message can only be read by its intended recipient.
We keep expanding the boundaries of what you can do with a messaging app. Don’t wait years for older messengers to catch up with Telegram — join the revolution today.

Disables notifications everywhere

true_night on

Australia

Desktop app don't have message notifications preferences (for private chats, group chats, channels, etc.). Probably because of this on my iPhone this preferences go off and I don't receive any notifications on all of my devices after using desktop version. Even when I enable it back on iPhone it will work some time but after a while become disabled again

MacOS Version Only

This is a 4-4.5 Star App all day every day on phone, linux & windows. I have been using Telgrama for years and love it, Great chat app that compete's with the big guns. Light weight, user freindly and scalable across many devises, we using it to communicate within our buisness and it's been a game changer. Unfortuently for the MACOS version it has to be marked down some points as it's missing one key feature that is perplexing to me. After switching to a Macbook for work this year I could not believe that bulk export of group chat's in not a thing on the MacOS version :( All I can say is WHY!! If I can stand to be corrected I'll happly change the score

I would given you a 4 if you didn’t remove the option for using a photo my chat

I liked the option of been able use my own photo for my own personal touch my chat account !!! I would given 4 star if that feature was still part of this with your latest upgrade! I was thinking of Premuim for my account but since that option not there anymore….I think it’s best I stay as it is…. I was very dissapointed that option for my apperance for my setting for my chat was taken away recently!

Not receiving notifications call quality shocking

I can't run this MacOs version of Telegram the same time i have my iPhone running. As i will not receive any notifications on my iPhone. Once i close out of Telegram MacOS completely then i get my notifications back on iPhone. Also the call quality on Telegram MacOS is shockingly bad and cannot hear anyone. I'm using M1 Mac Studio so maybe there is a problem with Telegram and Apple Silicon? ... Telegram please fix.

It's pretty good

if it's in windowed mode it sometimes doesn't show the chats sidebar, but says to select a chat - you have to make the window larger or fullscreen to get around it which is a bit annoying. it would be better to just include a button to access the sidebar if it's not visible in the aspect ratio the window is currently in.

Tired of all the corrupt media and billionaires censoring your views and stories? Try Telegram

Requires a Phone Number

Another vile POS software demanding personal information in order to use, totally over all this data collection.

Was going to give 5 stars until the file size limit

Liari96 on

Australia

It says file size exceed the limit. I thought Telegram didn't put a limit. Slightly disappointed, as the only reason I use Telegram is to send video files. I never use this app to chat. A suggestion: The reason people use Telegram is to send big files without it getting compressed (at least what I heard from all other users I know). I would really appreciate it if you guys can focus on this point. Thanks

Nice messenger

Perfect messenger, however I'd like an ability to create an account without binding to a phone number.
