Temple Run Reviews

Gets boring

Started off with an interesting story line but eventually you reach the never ending puzzle that adds 100 more sections to reach your goal. Starts out at 100, then 200, 300, etc. I was only getting 3 levels with each win. With nothing interesting happening I feel like I’m on a never ending treadmill playing the game.

Glitches

Love this game and so far into it, it’s so addictive but the glitches are getting too much. I spent so long trying to pass this level I’m on and I finally had it and the game froze and closed out. Super upset. I’ve put so much into this game so please update it

Lots of glitches.

Using on an iPad Pro, running iOS 18. Pros - engaging thinking game. The colors and game play are fun and challenging. Cons - Every single time I win a game, I have to restart the game to play the next level. Phantom pieces just appear and block a space. I very rarely get the cha nce to play the raft game. It’s almost always blacked out. My Apple Pencil only works on certain screens. The AI beetle is the most useless counterintuitive piece of technology I’ve ever interacted with, I avoid making those beetles, they’re useless. It’s frustrating enough that even though I’m on level 3615, I may just delete. These issues have been ongoing since I got the new iPad months ago, I kept hoping an update would fix these issues, but for not. I’d hate to have to delete but it’s annoying.

Game no longer playable

Temple Run is a decent puzzle game. However, as of the last update, the game only loads to the title screen. The button to start the game no longer appears.

Fun but unplayable because phone overheats

Short story

The game is more enjoyable in the beginning when you are solving puzzles for part of the story line. After the short story line ends it isn’t as much fun.

Game is fun but

Game frequently loses progress and you have to play levels over again to get back to where you were. This has occurred to me several times. I don’t know if this is cloud sync issue with Game Center or what but it is very frustrating. If it weren’t for this issue I’d give it 5 stars

Mixed Feelings: Fun But Frustrating

I recently downloaded TR:PA and after 48 hours of play, I have mixed feelings. The game offers a familiar match-three puzzle format, similar to others in this genre, with an added storyline featuring characters from the Temple Run franchise. While the story adds a unique twist, it feels a bit cheesy, and I often find myself skipping the dialogue to jump back into the puzzles. While the gameplay is easy to pick up and is incredibly addictive, there’s a catch: the gameplay feels restrictive compared to its freemium siblings. Unlike the freemium versions, where you can make micro-purchases of gems and coins to extend play, the Arcade version only allows you to earn gems after completing a puzzle, mini-game, or achieving goals. While this is the very reason I prefer Apple Arcade games over freemium; TR:PA has made it far too difficult to extend gameplay by limiting the use of gems to power-ups (no extra moves.) So, when you are one rotation away from solving the puzzle, but out of moves, the puzzle ends and you have to start again. This limitation has dampened my enjoyment, as it makes gameplay feel unnecessarily repetitive and punishing. Adding an option to trade earned gems for extra moves would add to the game’s appeal and help retain momentum when you’re on a roll. Overall, TR:PA is a fun an engaging game with solid puzzle mechanics, but there’s absence of extra moves impacts the pacing and enjoyment. If you enjoy the match-three genre and are a Temple Run fan, it’s worth trying, but be prepared for some frustration if you’re hoping for uninterrupted play without puzzle resets.
