By a runner, for runners! Indie knows what runners want & need and how to show metrics & measurements in easy to read formats. He is also super responsive to dead & suggestions. If you’re a runner, hiker or walker, get this app !!!
I’ve been running everyday for over three years. I found this app when I first got an Apple Watch a couple years ago and loved it, but I decided I wanted a more “pro” sports watch and switched to Garmin so I stopped using Tempo for about 8 months. Garmin watches are good and their app is fine, but it honestly does not compare to what Tempo does. I recently came back to the Apple Watch and using Tempo and this is by far a superior app to anything I’ve ever used. I’m so impressed with the developer, they clearly understand the data that runners want and need. The subscription is ridiculously cheap for all the functionality you get. The only thing that would make this app better is if you could export a gpx file. Otherwise, it’s perfect.
The phone interface is better than creating workouts in the watch. However, the alerts only include pace and heart rate, but not power. I base my workouts on power these days, making Tempo less useful.
This app has made tracking our runs a joy! The developer has been responsive to bugs and suggestions too.
I’ve tried them all. This one is made by one person who is clearly desperately passionate about two things. Running, and iOS development. Just get this app, and just give the guy some $. If you pair this with Strava for sharing and route finding you’ll be sorted for your training. My only wishes for the app 1) sharing a run, I’d love the option of having a map as the background, or a slightly more detailed route line? Also if I got a PR on a run, it’d be cool to have that on the share image. 2) the calendar view shows the last 30 days, but doesn’t seem to be scrollable and I can’t find a way to view all history in that calendar view?
I am in love with this app! I have been searching for something like this and It has finally been found! I love that it imports your entire workout history from Apple fitness/health - I’ve never found something that does that it seems that they always just start recording the day you get it and that point forward, tempo gives you a full analysis based on your entire history. I also am so appreciative that this has a one time purchase option which is actually affordable and realistic! I’m so tired of apps wanting you to have a monthly subscription in order to see anything being ultra basic stats and charging anywhere from $5.99 - $14.99 each month, or like over $60 a year if paid up front AND half the time don’t gives you a trial to even determine if they are worth buying! Thank you tempo for making something that gives everyone the ability to access their information and help the average everyday runner have a tool to better understand what they are doing and where they can improve! I can’t recommend enough to anyone who runs even the shortest of distances- I can say it has been helping me run more often, mostly because it also allows you to setup personal goals for yourself and then displays where you are in reaching those goals. Tempo will change your fitness game for sure- buy the premium it’s so worth the price ($10.99 for a year!) and it allows family sharing if you have that setup, double win!
I was looking for a simple and easy to use app to gather insights on my running and improving my fitness. This app has been great addition to my daily routine and goals.
App works great and provides awesome data. But given a $20/year subscription is needed for basically any useful features I would appreciate some more options. Primarily, I would like the ability to create a custom distance (e.g. 2 miles) and see my personal best times for that run. The twelve base personal best options are a great improvement over the base Apple app though.
Practically the entire thing is locked behind a suvscription.
