App works well
Against all the other reviews, I have to say that the app works well also for foreigners and tourists. In the registration process you are asked for a 6-9 number phone number. Just enter any number there and you’re good to go. The registration finishes with an email. In the app you can buy various tickets. If you don’t speak Spanish, just make a screenshot and translate it with google. Payment worked fine and you just have to scan the qr code inside the bus.
App not usable
everything the other “one-star” user described is true.
Furthermore, if you are a foreigner and you haven’t got a Spanish mobile, you are not able to fill in your telephone number. So you can’t use it anyway.
And on the website they say, especially if you are a tourist who travels a lot by bus… don’t believe it.
Then, when I arrived at the airport I got out and went straight to that box, where you could buy the ticket.
Then a woman came and said, it’s not working! …”What?”
Extremely poor application
This app is currently the only way to pay for public transport on tenerife. However, it absolutely shows that this monopoly is exploited shamelessly:
App language is spanish (only some default texts appear to get iOS translation into english on a non-spanish language phone )
The app imposes the use to know the arcane pricing schemes of titsa; eg a „metropol region“ ticket (1,45) does not apply for lines running between cities, even when start and end point are in the same city. You need to know that the same start/end locations, eg services on the same route by two different bus tours (103 and 104) may cost 1,45 or 4,10 (three stops puerto to la paz)
The bus drivers apparently are not educated on the use of the app either, to click through the arcane titsa tarif schemes, with (felt) 20+ various ticket options, but no simple „regular ticket from stop A to stop B“
This especially doesn’t help when only one bus per hour services a bus stop…
Furthermore, the app redirects for (felt) 2 out of 3 actions to the regular movil.titsa.es site - eg bus arrival times, bus routes etc.
However, the boundaries which lines and bus stops belong to which region are nowhere found as a non spanish speaker.
