Tentacle Setup

We have current information from Sony that there may be deviations of +/- 1 frame or even more when using the Sony timecode adapter cable VMC-BNCM1 with external timecode generators. Therefore we recommend the timecode synchronization via the 3.5mm Mic input as audio timecode if this is feasible in the workflow. Would be nice if you could set the offset in the app, otherwise it makes no sense to use the timecode cable for Fx3 users.

Bin jetzt nach zwei Jahren vom Zoom F2 Bt zu Tentacle gewechselt.Unfassbar was hier in dieser App möglich ist…. Da kann sich Zoom mehr als eine Scheibe abschneiden.. in der App kann man nichtmal das Gerät umbenennen geschweige mehre Geräte kontrollieren…. Lg Andi

Heute App-Update gemacht und Plötzlich kein Bluetooth Kontakt mehr zu den TC-Generatoren mehr. Bitte schnellstmöglich beheben. Danke!

I like the ease of the system: hard & software just start the little boxes, press sync in the app, hook up the boxes to the cams mic-in and your left cannel carries the TC or take advantage of the Blackmagics 4k’s TC input. Davinci Resolves syncs them on the fly, so does FCPX. In addition you can use the “Timebar” app to visually sync an action cam for the wett and dirty places you can’t hook up the Tentacles. And to top it all, you can now include the new Recorder into the system. That’s really great in noisy production halls where wireless systems always fail over time. A dpa 4066+TrackE that makes a difference. Though what I would like to see: - have the option to sync to the iPhone clock at the beginning of the second besides setting the time deliberately - that would be helpful to sync somewhat closer to other apps not being part of the Tentacle ecosystem - have the option to add a device to an already synced group of devices rather then resyncing all of them. - have the option to select the TrackE Recorder in Timebar respectively let Track E be the Master of the set. And an advice: the batteries last a shooting day and because i have multiple Boxes I found an Anker 10 port USB charger just perfect to get ready for the next day charging them all at once using the supplied neat little cables.

that provides stable TC steadily over the shooting day. I love the new feature that wireless syncs the boxes! The most amazing thing about Tentacle Sync is that TC has become easy, light and inexpensive. And sexy. That too.
