Text to Speech PDF Reader Reviews
Good voicing but lacking key features.
The AI powered voices are pretty good and have some nice options. Biggest drawback is inability to scan hard copy text with your phone and convert it into something the app can read. This was the dealbreaker for me.
Not the Best
App continually stops reading. Only sometimes will closing the app and restarting work. This is a major disruption when reading. I’m on the lookout for something better.
Worked for me for about an hour and then an unknown error wouldn’t allow me to use it again
I paid to upgrade to use the AI voices – which do sound great – but unfortunately, due to a continuous “unknown error “I couldn’t get it to work for me again
Page cropping function is largely non-functional
I upgraded to the paid version of this app to use the page-cropping function, so I could read papers while cropping out footnotes etc. I find though that this function only works about 60% of the time. Even when I manually crop out footnotes, the reader often still reads them. Very frustrating! Makes it nearly useless. App developers: Please fix!
SIRI can read text for free- No need to pay $$$

1. Go to settings
2. Search for “speak selection”
These app should be 99 cents.
Annoying “free” (fake) app
Adds are setup to pop up very frequently with the goal to annoy you in such a a way that you are forced to pay the premium for the app
Went from amazing to disappointed in a single day after months of use
As someone who struggles with ADHD this app has helped me so much. Being able to listen to documents and books instead of trying to read them and getting distracted halfway through has been a blessing. Until recently when I went to use it and my premium voices were not allowed to be used since I’ve listened to more than one day of using it! This is so frustrating!!! I finally found something that doesn’t sound like a robot and I only get one or two days a month now of normal voices for the premium cost?
When skipping back it pauses and needs to be played again to continue
Most of the time When skipping back it pauses and needs to be played again to continue! Its so annoying and time consuming
Poorly made, terrible app
Do not waste your money on this app. I’m a college student, so I have a ton of readings to do daily. I bought this thinking it would ease the process. Nope! It reads well enough, but I spend enough time trying to get it to scroll that it ends up not saving me time at all. If you plan to use this app to highlight and make annotations while also listening then know it freezes for no reason constantly making it really difficult to make annotations. I use this on my MacBook. And only on my MacBook. Garbage app.
went from 5 stars to 1 star overnigt
why did they force you to turn over all of your data to the icloud even after paying the app no longer honors the premium subscription and disabled premium voices. our data is not for free and you certainly cannot strong arm us into giving it to you. will never patron this company again until they reverse their perverted privacy invasion policy
It is convenient
I have this app on my phone and on my laptop with the premium version. The only problem I have is that it doesn’t work on my phone, it works on my laptop just fine. When ever I tried using it on my phone it crashes
