The Battle of Polytopia Reviews
Best App Store game I’ve played
I’ve had this game for years and find myself always going back to it any time I have spare time in my day. I’ve recommended this to everyone of my friends that play App Store games. Whoever has been updating this game and keeping it alive is amazing!!! Would give 100 stars if I could
An addicts worse nightmare
Polytopia seemed innocent at first, but the more I played, the harder it was to stop. I’ve isolated myself from friends, ignored family, and abandoned hobbies. It’s an addict’s worst nightmare.
Poorly designed for iPhone
Zoom comes up short. Stop using modules. White font on blue background is hard to read. Tutorial? If that’s a tutorial, it’s sad! The app is just too big of a pain to try and play. It looked promising. But fails to deliver. Tic-Tac-Toe maybe the best strategy game for the iPhone. <sic>
Me again
I already wrote a million word review so go read that, but I would like to suggest adding some kind of way to break your units out of Polaris ice.Not something too powerful though, Polaris shouldn’t be extremely nerfed if you(the devs) make a change like this (Polaris is pretty cool, no pun intended)🧊
Yo, I think i accidentally deleted my “million word review” so I’ll summarize it here :)
FOR DEVS:
Polaris freezing units seem like they shouldn’t be able to landfill Aquarions flooded tiles with auto freeze, especially in auquarions territory.
Cymanti could use a small nerf, they should stay strong, don’t ruin them. I understand that people main Cymanti because Cymanti is fun, but it shouldn’t be that powerful.
Elation needs at least a small rework. After the removal of the navalon, (which I never actually played the game then, but I know about it) elyrion needs more special units, because every special tribe already gets a unique super unit, but besides that elyrion has only the polytuars.
Also devs, please, never add ads, it’s much better to have to pay for tribes than have the in interrupted fun be Interrupted by ads. Please don’t listen to the reviews that suggest ads, they don’t appreciate the game enough.
Also, it would be cool to get a new tribe soon please🙏
FOR NON-DEVS:
First off, if you have played the game, I want to say this:
Despite what you may think, the tribes are relatively well balanced. I’m not saying that there is no room for improvement, just that many people over-exaggerate the “Unbalancedness”. Some tribes just take a lot more work to find a good strategy while some have an obvious strategy. Don’t be lazy, this is a strategy game.
Also, for strategy tips, the YouTuber, Gully, has good tips. It would be cool if he read this. If you haven’t played the game: DOWNLOAD IT NOW! Despite what you may have read, the in game purchases are not overpriced. It could be worse. I’ve seen games charging 100 dollars for an in app purchase. This game is 100 percent awesome and worth it.
Ok, that wasn’t a summary, but please download the game, and it would be nice if the devs could consider some of the things I mentioned, but I also know that the devs will probably make the best choices about what to change. But please consider these suggestions.
DOWNLOAD THIS NOW
THIS GAME HAS NO ADS

AND THE IN APP PURCHASES ARE AWSOME
I’m just gonna keep adding stuff to this review as I think of it

Great game
Ive been playing this game since literal middleschool. Im 23 now and it still holds up. One of the best civilization type games forsure
More options needed
Wish there was a way to play multiplayer without the special tribes with different abilities (aqua, dragon, bugs and ice) I’ve bought them all and just don’t like them, also some people cheat (create two accounts and join together in the same game, so it might seem like 4players but really two of the players are being played by one person), don’t think there’s a way to fix that issue..
Pretty Great but…
The devs of Polytopia have done one insidious thing that I completely disagree with and I uninstalled Polytopia after about two thousand games on two accounts. I have all notifications off except for the little red dot on the application thumb nail. Polytopia will send me that red dot notification once a day to get me to open it but there is no turn or game to play. They do this to encourage interaction in order to make more money. I know it seems small, but I’m really not a fan of that kind of behavior.
Best free strat game
NO ADS
It’s simple, but difficult to master. There are many tribes to choose from (in the paid section). Even free, it comes with 4 tribes, two of which are one-turn level ups which are a huge advantage in the game. Buying tribes does not necessarily enhance gameplay, it just adds complexity. All settings are accessible to those who don’t pay. The game is awesome, and I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours playing since 2017. (New phone, so extra reviews)
